I'm glad that Seattle won, but Richard Sherman is as classless as they come. What a jerk!

Before the game Crabtree was asked if he thought Sherman was one of the best at his position. Crabtree answered with an emphatic "No!" So Sherman's later comments aren't quite as outrageous as some seem to think.
Sherman is one of the best trash talkers in the game. |

I was rooting for Seattle- but I may re-evaluate. You got one of the greatest QB's of all time and classiest DB's (Champ B) in the game for Denver who are both getting up there. Would be nice to see them win the Big One! RNK

No doubt it's going to be a great Super Bowl. This is exactly the match-up I've been predicting and hoping for since the season began. The top seeds in both conferences going head to head. Something that doesn't happen often.
Am picking Seattle by seven based on both teams relative performances against New England. Denver is going to have serious problems with the Seattle secondary. |

If Manning is flawless as he was against the Patriots and Seattle continues the trend of being the most penalized team in the NFL as they were this year (http://www.nflpenalties.com/)- I see a Broncos victory. If Seattle controls their "dirtiness" then they have a good chance.
Prediction: Broncos 27 Seattle 23

Richard Sherman punchline: He holds a degree in communication from Stanford.
"Torture doesn't work" lol
Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley. "...as we reason and love, we are able to hope. And hope enables us to resist those things that would enslave us." |

If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Why do you think the recordings they make of on-field sounds are only heard after they've been edited and not during the game? Did you think those guys on the line are just expressing pleasantries to each other before the ball is hiked? Like it or not, trash talking is part of the game. But I'd agree, as did Pete Carroll, that Sherman's post game rant wasn't called for: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/20......f=sports Go Hawks! |

No matter who wins Peyton Manning is amazing.
After what he's been through, to come back and play the way he has is unbelievable.
If you need fear to enforce your beliefs, then your beliefs are worthless.

Some of you might not remember, but the Seahawks were originally in the AFC and had a long rivalry with the Broncos. Back then, Seattle fans wore shirts that said "Bronco Busters" and would ceremoniously smash donated Ford Broncos in the days before a game. |

Re: Richard Sherman. This article pretty well sums up who the man is and why it's ridiculous to attack him for his comments after the game:
http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/1/20/53......hip-2014 Basically, there's not a team in the NFL who wouldn't be thrilled to have him. |

But that's not what the article is really about, Bill. I don't think you'll agree with it, but it does offer a different perspective on the whole thing.
But I have to wonder about the FOX Sports reporter. Just minutes after the dramatic end of the game, after Sherman got slapped in the helmet by Crabtree and then gave him the "choke" sign, he jumps up into the stands and then back down on the field, pumped to the limit with adrenaline- and the reporter shoves a microphone in his face. Do you think maybe it might have been a good idea to wait a few minutes? I mean, what did she expect? (Did you ever listen to Ali right after a knockout when Cosell would shove a mic into his face? Of course, Cosell KNEW what kind of reaction he'd get. And it was exactly the one he wanted.) Football is not, nor has it ever been, a gentlemen's game. The only one whose behavior I would condemn was the Seattle "fan" who threw popcorn at the seriously injured 49er as he was being taken off the field. And Sherman was quick to condemn that as well, saying it wasn't representative of the 12th man and was disgraceful. |
