You threw me for a moment! The full and correct title of the book is "The Roy Johnson Experience" and is (I think) the first of a series of books by Roy that were published by Goodliffe (of Abracadabra magazine fame). This one was published in 1970.
As said above, all of Roy's writings are worth reading and many of his published tricks were later sold individually by the late Ken Brooke - who writes the foreword in this one. 'Cent' is one routine featured in this book that Ken marketed and with which he had particular success. It is basically a clever coin trick that has a punch line finishing with the appearance of a small bottle of 'scent'. The style of magic routined in all of his books are what might nowadays be called 'parlour magic' although Roy worked professionally in the latter days of variety (vaudeville) theatres in the UK. For anyone working humorous, patter, stand-up material with cards, coins, envelopes etc. Any of Roy Johnson's books can be highly recommended. Hope that helps! Leslie
Stories....?....That's telling!
