Just popped in to say Hi! I have been recommended to this site by a fellow magician (big ups to anyone from Coventry Magic Circle - UK). It looks really good on first impressions.

I can relate to what Gary said about his dad's passing. My dad was an amateur magician/clown and I spent my youth trying NOT to be like him, but now I have this desire to emulate what he did, to entertain people with magic. I am proud to be like my dad.

I do mainly close-up at the moment but will be looking for some guidance on stage presentations. I am currently working on a cabaret mentalism spot for February.

Magicians I like include Jay Sankey and Martin L Nash and I recently discovered Criss Angel (what a great stage act!).

Anyway enough about me...

Hi Meltdown,

It's great to have you join the Café and welcome! I too like Sankey and have had the opportunity to see his lecture and show 3 times over the years. I have also had the pleasure of being able to call Martin Nash, friend, so seems we have something in common as I value both of these magicians talents.

You'll find many things of interest at the Café and so much to read!! It's a bit overwhelming at first but after a week or two you'll find yourself visiting your favorite forum and perhaps even posting or asking questions of your own. It's a friendly group here so I'm sure you'll feel comfortable in no time.

Sit back, grab a cup of coffee and be prepared for lots of reading! Smile Smile <<strong coffee to keep you alert!

Thanks for the replies.

I have had the pleasure of attending a Jay Sankey lecture here in the UK. He was funny, innovative and one of the most approachable and helpful people I have met to date. Plus his DVDs are great and worth every cent/penny/zloty whatever... Smile

Cheers - Meltdown
