Yasuhiro Yamada AKA Spencer Tricks will have his stock in the hands of Murphy's Magic Supplies this week! He is the creator behind Vino Sense, High Six, and Moloko.
Vino Sense is a "Which hand is it in" effect using a wine cork High Six is a unique levitation system that allows objects to move and remain suspended (Losander quote coming) Moloko is an effect where 1 of 5 (or more) spectators holds a tootsie roll and you know who is holding it (Adaptable with Vino Sense making it perfect for kids) The Hornet is a cap in bottle unlike anyone I've ever seen Thumbsucker is an easy smoke production by sucking on your thumb I am not the creator, nor am I getting anything out of this. I was able to help Yas fulfill his dream of bringing his effects to the US, and am thrilled for his success. |

Moloko is awesome! So sensitive. Can be done as a "which hand" or a kurosuke type effect. The candy looks like a tootsie roll.
Really great! James

I know he is also planning on releasing his own version of the spike game using the same method as Vino Sense and Mokolo. The cups he uses are collapsable and reusable!

Is Moloko adaptable to other items or candies, etc...?

Is it just me, or does The Hornet look A LOT like Prohibition by Charlie Justice?
Hornet: http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/the-hornet......037.html Prohibition: http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/prohibitio......525.html I mean, as far as I can tell, it looks the same (right down to the folded bottle cap, and the fact that it's first placed IN the bottle before being "poured" out again into the hand).

I don't know how Prohibition works, but Yas's Hornet the bottle can not be borrowed, or closly inspected until after the penetration.

Prohibition, which I love, can definitely use a borrowed bottle and can be fully examined afterwards. Not a reflection on this in any way, just facts re: Prohibition

Writer, THANKS for posting that!
I thought it certainly looks like Prohibition but noticed how he handles the hardest phase of Prohibition for me before he slams it thru the bottom. I really like his method. BUT he blew me away in the 2nd phase because he's holding the bottle with just 2 fingers! Then he immediately sends the bent cap thru the bottom again. Of course, my requirements are for borrowed items. I usually wait until the reviews start rolling in before I buy anything but I was going to make an exception with The Hornet. But thanks to Writer, I guess I'm gonna pass because of not be able to borrow the bottle. Things like that should be stated in the description. I would have shelled out 40-hard-earned-bucks & then put everything in a box down in the basement after getting it!! |

Obviously there are similarities in the initial look.....there's a bottle and there's a folded cap....... but the similarities quickly end. A Mustang and a Camaro are both cars but they're different. I love "Prohibition", and I think Charlie Justice is a genius for having come up with the method/performance, but "The Hornet" does take the genre a step in a different (but not necessarily superlative) direction. Writer and Bande do point out that there's a tradeoff regarding the bottle being borrowed and/or examined at the start, which is a strongpoint of "Prohibition".
Like Bonnie Raitt said, "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 8 years old." Thanks for the concerts + recordings, Lowell, Richie, and Paul!

But I agree that looking at the second phase, there is no way that it's the same effect. I DO own Prohibition, which I like because the bottle can be borrowed. However, what looks nice about Hornet (in my opinion) is that second phase which is very open in the display. I guess the trade-off will boil down to a person's taste: do you want to use a borrowed bottle from the start (Prohibition) or a gimmicked bottle (Hornet). I certainly don't mind something which starts out gimmicked but then can be handed out for examination.....and according to the product description, it says that you CAN hand out the Hornet bottle (after Phase 1 and immediately after Phase 2). That in itself almost makes it seem like it's worth the higher price.

I actually own them all. I don't perform much anymore, but can provide as much insight as possible. Again, I don't not stand to gain anything by posting here. I know Yasuhiro, but am not affiliated with him. Not even on the same hemisphere!
