I can also see control over biological processes as fitting in somehow, such as pseudo-demonstrations of the power of chi or meditation to influence things like body temperature, imperviousness to injury, etc.

No. They require mental focus, but that isn't a particularly unusual mental power. Feats of endurance are just that- feats of endurance. You could, of course, hypnotize someone else to enable him to endure something he would otherwise be unable to.

But, then again, hypnosis isn't really mentalism either. (It requires training and skill, but no particular mental "power.")
