Many years ago I purchased a bottle production effect sold under the name THIS. There are 3 large, different colored silks with a load to produce a wine bottle or similar. Is this still sold today and under what name?

"Improved This" from Bob Sanders. He is on the Café, I'm sure he will show up here soon.
I use it for a flower production.

Yes, I second the nomination for Mr. Bob Sanders! I got my "Improved T.H.I.S." from him. He will take care of you!

I would also recommend Bob Sanders "Improved T.H.I.S". Great product and a great price.
The improvements over the traditional construction methods make a difference.
Be remembered for performing what looks like MAGIC, not skill.

Actually a famous magician marketed this effect under the name "That". You might search "That" as well.

We know that this effect was performed in 1432, long before the discovery of America.
That and THIS (Improved) are very different. My old friend Pavel started me with THIS and I supplied it back in the 70's. The THIS (Improved) came about with help from my wife Lucy. We currently supply the item in 100% pure China silk with instructions for $36.00. I've seen knock-offs for up to $200. For the most part, you can choose your colors. If your theme requires four colors, simply add a fourth 24" silk. (As we go into Mardi Gras my colors used are gold, purple and green. For safety programs, red, yellow and green are used. And in election years, red, white and blue are favorites. As for "cargo space", think in terms of a half gallon milk jug. The load limit is 8-10 pounds.) My favorite load is a Line of Silks followed by whatever you will be using next in your show. Please email me, for other information. In my silk lectures, I can do whole sections on using THIS (Improved). One of the greatest helps is seeing how to adjust the load distance from your hand to not tip off that there is indeed a load chamber. If you do hospital or nursing home work, it is a great way to produce a stuffed animal, book, or other items as small gifts. Once you see the real thing, knock-offs are easy to spot. You'll find many, many uses for THIS (Improved) because you can work surrounded and, like a Square Circle, loads are only limited by your imagination. |

I just got the inproved THIS from Bob Sanders. Excelent quality and great service. We talked on the phone and got my questions answered and when I ordered THIS I got the item in a rapid fashion. A pleasure to talk to Bob and order from him. If you need silks get them from Bob, as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

Without revealing too much in the open forum, can you give me a hint as to what the improvement is Bob? I've had two versions of this effect, one set with a TT attached and one with a sewn loop. I much prefer the sewn loop version and it handles really nicely even though it was a relatively cheap one from eBay. I use it in my kids shows to give myself a well earned drink of water halfway through!

The improvements stop loads from shifting and moving the load silk corners out of line (sometimes exposing the load) with the other three silks. (If you have ever used the substitutes, you'll love the balance and control!) Once GOOD metal TTs were no longer available, plastic TTs used break (slice through) with heavy loads. With the improvement plus real Vernet TTs the problem was cured.
My wife introduced the improvement from her medical experience in eye surgery. (She is a physician.) |

This is a great utility prop for seasonal events and parties. For Halloween you can "find" candy in it. At Christmas parties and awards events, it is a great place to find Bonus checks, awards, new product placement, stuffed animals, etc.
It adds lots of color, ceremony, and surprises to something that ordinarily tends just be a mail call. New Years it will also handle bottles of wine! Scheme! |
