Just a word for all you who do cigarette magic.
I ordered some wooden cigarettes from John Rogers and am completely floored by how nice they are. Truly exceptional quality. Highly detailed. They are so realistic they should come with a Sugeon's General warning ! If you work with cig's you know they bend and break pretty easy. These will last a lifetime. Do your self a favor. Check out John's work. He is very nice and I can't recommend him highly enough. |

Ringing in a fake is always good to accomplish some unbelievable magic, but just using wooden imitations does not make a lot of sense. Since there are fake cardboard cigs on the novelty gag market for a few dollars. Much easier to handle then heavy wooden items.
Actually, that is what makes cigarette magic so magical, using an object that can break very easily and has a dangerous red hot burning tip that gets smaller and smaller during use. Being able to draw smoke from it as well, tells the audience it is real and not fake. That is why fake cigarettes and those new electronic cigarettes do not maintain a magic aura for the audience. I am glad you are happy with your purchase, though. |

John Calvert presented a fantastic cig routine that amazed audiences. It was exciting and magical. The cigs were NOT lit.
It boils down to how you approach and construct the routine. The key to Calvert's routine, besides good solid magic, was showmanship. |

Bill has a point IF you can find the fake cigs... and if they can be gimmicked as John Rogers can do so. His droppy ash cig is amaizingly real... and you can't have real ash stay like this.
But even better are his cigars! Works of art... and can be gimmicked to do amazing magic! Lynn |
