I was directed to a page with a link on it after I made my payment. I right-clicked the link and chose the download file option. It took just under one hour to complete the download.

Folks, just to clarify - if you're having problems downloading this, it is 99% likely to do with you and your connections etc.. Don't forget, its a large file, and as mentioned above, any interruptions in the line whilst downloading will stop the download in some popular browsers.
Here's what to do if you're having problems - use a download manager (or any of the above mentioned). This type of program is entirely separate from a browser and it's sole purpose is to download. There's some good ones out there, and if the connection is disrupted, they are able to pick up where they left off. If you've got problems playing it, use VLC media player. It plays almost every type of media file known (and is highly recommended and free!). And, if you want to play this on your iPads, run the file through 'Handbrake', which has an auto setting to convert any video file ready to stick in your iTune and transfer to iPad.

I am no longer having problems...my download should be finished in about 45 minutes. The problem is certainly on my end...DSL internet plus huge file=slowness. Mine finally worked using the download manager that is inside Mozilla Thunderbird.
Thaumaturge, could you recommend some good download managers?...a LOT of them are loaded with malware & other junk. Nathan

Wow I just performed this effect with a brand new sealed deck on my wife and it worked perfectly. Even though she's not usually good at following directions it went perfect. I loved this effect. We went to the store together to get a few things. I threw a deck of cards in the cart, we got home, put away the groceries and there was the deck. I had her open it up shuffle the deck and performed the routine. It blew her away....I can't wait to keep doing this effect

That's awesome, Blake! If you ever have the opportunity, try it with three people at once. It's ***ed impressive when done that way.

I will definitely try it with three people...lol the trick is great but I think I'm more surprised that my wife followed the directions lol jk I love her but y'all know how it can be. They see more tricks then normal and get bored and don't think that directions are important, but it all flew by her and was so easy....great stuff ben

This has to be my best card effect purchase ever, the structuring is beautiful. Tried out polygraph and
Hotoac, both effects absolutely killed.. Can't wait to watch rest of video. The first effect worth the price alone, great value for money. Hats of to you Ben, I'm certainly a new fan of yours now Very highly recommended, and I haven't even watched it all yet. |

What was most valuable in this section to me were not the actual variations, but the fact that Ben has them at all. That is, I really like how he takes a simple idea and then follows it to the very end wringing it for all it's worth. It's a nice model for magical creativity.

If you're having problems downloading this, please be sure you're on a speedy and solid connection. This is quite a large file (4 gigs!) any interruptions in the line whilst downloading will stop the download in some popular browsers.
Here's the best solution to these issues I've found: You can use a download manager. These programs run independent of your browser and will allow you to resume a download if it pauses for any reason. Safari in MAC OS has a great download mechanism built in. Opera also has this feature built in. Firefox also has proven useful. In any of these programs, click the video link, and simply right click the video and click "Save as." On a broadband connection the file will take just under an hour to download completely. The good news is because we've chosen the mp4 format it may be watched as it's downloaded so you get your content immediately! If you're looking for a separate program, here's a few download managers that I've found via a google search: http://www.internetdownloadmanager.com http://download.cnet.com/Internet-Downlo......618.html In terms of playing the video - most computers will play an MP4 file (even firefox will stream it). If you need a program to play it, I'm a big fan of the VLC media player that may be download free. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html Ross Hedley also said he had success downloading directly to his iPad using the program MyMedia. Just copy and paste the download link into the address bar in MyMedia and you're ready to go. Just make sure you have enough free disc space ! -Patrick |

Hey guys,
I was able to view the complete video, and Patrick was very helpful in getting back to me ASAP and resolving my issues. Great customer service, and Ben was also very helpful as well. With all that said, I promised I would provide a review of this download. It is $35.00, and you can find it at www.patrickredford.com For those that do not know Ben Blau, some time back, he teased us with a video of an effect called PolyGraph at the time, in which he fools Patrick Redford, and saying that he wanted to release his first work out. Later on he showed us another video called H.O.T.O.A.C, and said it would be included with PolyGraph. Well Patrick got to work on this, and promised it would be out in March, and it was just recently released a few days ago. What do you get on this download? You get a mp4 file that is 3 hours and 22 sec long to be exact, in which Ben teaches you several effects, as well as explains his thought process, justifications, motivation, subtleties, etc for everything that he wants to show you, and how to make your magic stronger and more meaninful. Video starts off with a performance of PolyGraph, followed by an explanation, as Ben gives you all the tips he uses for this lie detector routine. We then see the performance video of Hands Off Think of Any Card, and as well, after that, we see the explanation.....what is really interesting is that Patrick Redford has these so called Couch Sessions, where he and Ben brainstorm ideas on how to make the effect better, or method, etc, and what results is truly fascinating and good food for thought. On Couch Session #2 after HOTOAC is explained, Ben gives you several variations on doing the effect with a borrowed cold deck, or with a brand new sealed deck, in which you can use more than 1 person to divine their thought of card. Ben then teaches you his Easy Card Force, which is brilliant, and I am sure many people will get a kick out of it. This is used in conjunction to an effect called, You show me yours and I will show you mine, which is like a Do as I do routine. Ben then shows us his variation on a cut, which I am sure most people will begin to use since it looks very clean looking and fair. Ben then goes on to show you different variations of effects, including how to divine someones Zodiac signs, an ESP test, and even Childhood memories. All in all, for $35.00 I think you get double or triple your moneys worth, because you will get something out of it. Think of it as a lecture from Ben. If you get something out of this download, which I am 100% positive you will use at least 1 thing, if not all of this material, then I feel you got your moneys worth, and I think now we shall wait to see what Ben plans to do next time. Thanks Patrick and Ben. Alex Alejandro

Hi All,
There isn't much I can add to BMWGuy's review except that you'll want to take your time to digest all that's on the video... there's a lot there to take in. As BMWGuy mentioned, the last portion of the video shows Ben covering several excellent presentational variations (you even get the image files for two of the variations). That portion will surely get your mind going to come up with your own variations in no time. Ben shows his talent for excellent routining and great thinking throughout the video. The "Polygraph" and "H.O.T.O.A.C." effects are each worth the cost of the download, but you get them both, a couple bonuses thrown in, and an opportunity to do some creative thinking on your own for one price. I highly recommend this and I think you will, too, when you've watched the video. Regards, Steve

Excellent stuff Ben ! I kinda thought about the methods used, and as you say they're not new, but the whole handling, scripting, structuring the routines are so good ! It's not fair for the spectator's ;-) Even the magicians among those, because the usual methods are so quickly thrown away ;-)
Very good, stuff and really worth it ! 9,5/10 (because nobody's perfect ;-)

Mr. Blau and Patrick,
I'm a long time fan of you both (since Prevaricator) The price you are asking for (30$) is nothing compared to what we get. The download was quick and without problems and Mr. Blau's ideas are really great, as usual. Can't wait for your next project. Thanks again, Wolf |

Hey guys, just curious - have any of you yet tried the "new deck - three spectators" version of HOTOAC yet? It definitely takes b@lls, but I'd love to hear about your successes or failures with this. Please share your experiences (without exposure, of course).
Thanks! -Ben
