I love Werewolves !
Not, sure the Faeries will play as strong in the States,as across the pond. We, grew up with 'Tinker Bell'...not, the 'Under Ground Dwellers' ! But, ProfBC's releases are always, Strong!

So, even though you and I may not have been exposed to these truly grim tales, a story could still be told how they influenced the youth of their day.

Prof BC is one of the most generous creators, teachers, and performers here at the Café Perkins. He gives, and then continues to give.
Welcome aboard. Explore every inch of this site, but like me, you'll probably end up visiting this bizarre place the most. It's dark, but for me, the most welcoming.

What, I was saying is...The US, has grown up with Fairy GodMothers,Fairy Pricess's and such. With the Grimm Fairy Tales, the witches/giants/creatures/ogres/ may have had more lore here, than the Fairy stories. I think the faeries had a greater appeal in Euorope. JMO ! And, as with anything, a wonderful presentation can make anything work ! Here is a nice little quote, about the Brothers Grimm : "When Jacob and Wilhem Grimm, set out to collect stories in the early 1800's their goal was not to entertain children but to preserve Germanic Folklore - and the hard life of European peasants was reflected in the tales they discovered. However, once the brothers saw how the stories entranced young readers, they began to soften some of the harsher aspects to make them more suitable for children."

I am going to sidetrack a little. I have always loved the Grimm tales that involved the three sons going out on an adventure, etc, etc... "The Tale of the Three Brothers" from Harry Potter got me thinking even more about the possibility of a routine surrounded by one of these stories. Is there anything already out there of this type? Even an invented one.
What I have in mind is one of the stories told with tarot like cards and the figures depicted on the cards, ala Guy Hollingworth's Once Upon a Time.

I think one of the most terrible and wonderful Grimm stories is The Juniper Tree. Ever read that one?
Then the bird came and took the golden chain in his right claw, and went and sat in front of the goldsmith, and sang, "My mother she killed me, My father he ate me, My sister, little Marlinchen, Gathered together all my bones, Tied them in a silken handkerchief, Laid them beneath the juniper-tree, Kywitt, kywitt, what a beautiful bird am I!"

No, I never read that one.
One that I still recall to this day, since our teacher in primary school read it to us, is "The Golden Bird"

It should be landing in London literally any minute now. Shipped it off about ten days ago. Once it arrives at Lebanon Circle Magic, it is just a matter of Dan putting together the page and going live.
Thanks for asking, Prof BC
