World of Warcraft; killing boars and bunnies all day long to gain experience.
Now that is scary.

WoW... I spent a lot of time on that as well, but not farming form gold... not my cup of tea. I used to love hunting for rare pets with my hunter though.

LOL!!!

Wildstar is the only MMO that might be able to topple WoW.

Here's a game I just backed on kickstarter. Looks so great and realistic. This coupled with an Oculus Rift makes for one great experience.

Bioshock Infinite & Dishonoured are highly recommended indeed - I love the atmosphere of Bioshock Infinite especially Smile lots of great ideas in there and quite the intelligent game!

Limbo is a perfect example of less is more when properly presented.

In the vein of Limbo I really enjoyed Deadlight. Great survival zombie game and so simple in design.

But some of the indie games that are coming out are really stupid and I am not sure why get so much hype.

I have always found the mostly empty worlds of Myst somewhat creepy. Also, going back to the early days of computer games, Phantasmagoria was a great one. And on the old PS console, Fatal Frame.

Bedford, you are so point-on regarding Myst...especially the first one. The loneliness helped make it the great game that is was. I couldn't stop playing...had to figure out the mystery.

Bioshock Infinite is amazing. The ending was surreal....a real minding experience.

As far as truly terrifying, Outlast is a soil-your-pants experience. My son just downloaded this a couple days ago. It is a free game for the PS4 if you have the PS Plus subscription. You are in an insane asylum full of freakish nightmares. You are a reporter who has become lost in the asylum with only a video camera (kind of a Blair Witch feel). The video camera has night vision but it chows through batteries in that mode. So you have to balance using the camera to see versus using up the battery and dying a gruesome death. It is the most terrifying game I've ever seen. My son refused to watch it after about 15 minutes and I quit after about 30 minutes because my heart could not take once more shock. I have no plans to finish the game.

"Haunted Houdini" GAME

The atmosphere, sound, art and effects in this simple puzzle game are nice and spooky.
