Here's a prop I built for Walt recently (although it took about a year and a half from order to delivery). He wanted a steampunk theme.

Unfortunately, my choice of a background cloth for the photo was no good, since you can't really tell the center image is now a hole. Smile

We demand photos with a better background.
We demand photos with a closer view of your great design.
We demand that this be posted before one-year-and-a-half.

This is a large stage version of Robert Neale's "The Wall"
From the book The Magic Mirror by Bob and David Parr.

This piece accompanies the opening of every show I perform.

George,
Don't mind. Get a better picture of the prop, because it's great.
That Spellbinder-guy is a nasty one. Did he pay you???

Morgan Freeman? No way. I like the guy and all, but I'd want Elle McPherson or Kate Upton to present it. Just thinkin' about misdirection, you unnerstand...

Hey! It's mine ALL mine!!
The prop and the presentation.
(Okay, it’s in my book, but it’s still mine)

I'm doing the video. Or NO video, got that?
Wide Screen, HD, Dolby, and whatever else they can throw at the screen.

(I did a guest appearance photo shoot for George today though.)

Okay, here are some photos of the piece in action. Walt will fill in the details.

So details?
--The two halves are slowly brought toether (from arms length) into one plaque.
--The plaque is solid, the framed night sky in the center, and is displayed left and right.
--The two halves are slowly drawn apart to almost arms length.
-The left and right hand independently slowly turn the pieces over.
--The two halves are slowly brought together again.
--A window to …wherever… has now replaced the sky in the frame.
Ta-da!

This opens most of my shows and here’s the presentation:

Are you curious to explore Worlds beyond our World?
(Our world of work, and rent, and taxes, and traffic.)
The doorway to these other worlds is often called “Imagination.”
To walk through this doorway, we must simply become
…innocent again.
Forget the “Laws of Science,”
Remember the “Laws of Wonder.”
Magic is a place where we can transform, all the doubt and fear in the world.
Will you take a chance?
Then allow me to be your guide and together enter these Realms of Astonishment!

Looks like you came up with a use for that puzzle with an extra piece left. What a creative way to turn a puzzle into a mystery.

Actually, what I like about the way it turned out is that you can barely see the joint lines, even from a few feet away.
