Here's a prop I built for Walt recently (although it took about a year and a half from order to delivery). He wanted a steampunk theme.





Unfortunately, my choice of a background cloth for the photo was no good, since you can't really tell the center image is now a hole.

Nice design! What is the effect?

Okay, here are some photos of the piece in action. Walt will fill in the details.

So details?
--The two halves are slowly brought toether (from arms length) into one plaque.
--The plaque is solid, the framed night sky in the center, and is displayed left and right.
--The two halves are slowly drawn apart to almost arms length.
-The left and right hand independently slowly turn the pieces over.
--The two halves are slowly brought together again.
--A window to …wherever… has now replaced the sky in the frame.
Ta-da!

Looks like you came up with a use for that puzzle with an extra piece left. What a creative way to turn a puzzle into a mystery.

Actually, what I like about the way it turned out is that you can barely see the joint lines, even from a few feet away.
