OK, I need some help. My son is a Cub Scout and we are working on our Pinewood Derby Race Car. Does anyone have any experience with these? I have one question. Is it better to put the weight in the front or the back of the racer?

You'll get several different opinions but I believe that a balanced distribution of weight is the best way to go.
Don't forget to make sure that both the axles and the holes in the wheels are smooth and a bit of graphite does wonders.

We werent that successful with even distribution last year, although I thought the same thing. We're definitely all over the graphite. I had just heard from different "camps" on the weight theory and I was trying to weed out the "propoganda".
