Can you get rich using the bible? Sean Hyman promises you can. And he's been advertising a lot lately on Rush Limbaugh's show (geez, I wonder why?). Here's the tease:
http://w3.newsmax.com/newsletters/uwr/money_code_text.cfm "Imagine if you had a secret code for making money . . . a code buried deep within Biblical text. A code that certain investment titans have quietly exploited to amass billions. And what if this code could be used by you, today, to unlock vast amounts of wealth — safely and ethically. Today, you'll discover the often forgotten principles of wealth creation embedded in ancient Biblical texts . . . a system applied by some of the most successful people in history. What's more, you'll discover how you can use this code in your own life to get out of debt . . . make sound investments . . . and morally build substantial wealth for your family and your community. And it starts with one small, life-changing step you can take today. As you might guess, the Bible's "money code" isn't about getting rich quick, but perhaps more shocking, the "money code" isn't about playing it "safe" either. Investment expert and former pastor Sean Hyman guides you through the confusing attitudes people have toward money and wealth . . . and helps you understand what the Bible actually says about the proper use of the resources we have been given. Sean actually used this money code to go from making $15,000 a year to now giving away up to $50,000 per year. It's the same code he used to help his father turn a $40,000 retirement account into $396,000. And it's the same code is he used to help a friend turn $2,000 into $10,000 in the matter of about one year. I urge you to pay close attention . . . because I guarantee the Biblical principles you'll discover, or perhaps rediscover, will change your life. And at the end of this report, you'll get some specific, practical investment recommendations that you can put into practice immediately." Ron

Why am I not surprised that this nonsense is heavily advertised on NewsMax and Rush Limbaugh? It caters, after all, to their target audiences.
Just wonder how this jives with Jesus' statement about it being easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get in to heaven. (Not to mention His "Blessed are the poor.") |

The one, small, life changing step you need to take is buying a subscription to a financial newsletter. Wow, what a surprise! CNBC, Limbaugh and whoever else runs the ad is getting paid. That doesn't mean that they espouse the views expressed.

I agree. But the fact that the advertisers choose to buy ads there tells a lot about the demographic they're reaching out to.

It should go without saying that people advertise where they think they will sell the most. Certainly that is true. My question is can you tell as much about liberal shows and who supports them?

Could you please enlighten me as to which specific ads you are referring to? But I'm glad to see you agree that the ad in the OP was placed on the stations where it would sell the most. |

It is not about agreement. If I agree or disagree it is not really relevant LOL. It goes without saying that advertisers spend their money where they think they will get the best return. No real way around that. Stupid truth.
I didn't mention any specific ads. Just wanted to know if the formula held true for liberal shows or if this was another rule I had to learn like you can't attack the source unless it is a conservative one. Just trying to keep up is all.

Thought you were just engaging in your usual diversions. I didn't really expect you to provide any examples to support your contention.

Additional from the link I posted...
"I'm talking about the financial secrets of King Solomon, the Apostle Paul, and even Jesus of Nazareth." So apparently, Jesus kept financial secrets, embedded them as code in the bible, and now wants Rush Limbaugh's listeners (the cut taxes for the rich crowd) to exploit those secrets. So says a pastor who used the "code" to go from making $15,000 a year to giving away $50,000 a year. Also, this excerpt from the link is quite ironic: "In Chapter 14 of Proverbs, we are given solid advice. It says, "The naive believe everything . . . but a wise man looks well into a matter." That's what we have to do to avoid falling in love with money. We have to "look well into the matter of investing." Seems to me the ones who would pursue this would be those who are a)naïve/gullible), and b) seeking wealth (in love with money). Oh, and if you're highly religious then what's more trustworthy than the bible? Seems Sean Hyman has found the perfect target audience. Ron

Do people still go "Wow...Just Wow" on the Internet anymore? 'Cause this is sure one of those times when it would be appropriate.

IMO Sean Hyman seriously misjudged his target audience by choosing to advertise on Limbaugh's show. The radio ad says that the "free" internet video will explain how the code can be used to obtain all of this wealth. Anyone with half a brain had to know that wasn't going to happen and that the punch line was a sales pitch.

So they are using good business sense in placing their ads. Why are you against that?

I'm not. Simply pointing out why you won't see these ads on mainstream stations.

I get it now. It's much like why we don't see Deering Banjos advertized on mainstream stations.
Now if we could lust get the shyster lawyers to get off of them. Bazinga! |

I assure it's not the same ads as Rush. It's online college programs and injury attorneys. What's that tell you about the demographics?
