Hello,I'm starting to design a trick that seems to me like something Tenyo would make. Tell me if it is already taken. The magician takes 3 cards and allows the spectator to pick one. The other 2 are discarded. Then, the card is slowly pushed into a holder in a "reading machine". The machine promptly displays the cards shape and color! It can be repeated again with minimum set up, and there is no forcing. Please comment below and tell me what you think. I have the mechanism planned out,so now I have to make a prototype. thanks.

Tenyo tends to avoid card tricks. Not always, but most of the time.

I like the sound of this, but am not sure what the 'machine' exactly does ... . It reveals the card if I understand correct, but why would you need a machine to reveal the card?

The point is that the machine would be able to reveal any card a person chooses and display it on a once blank screen. this gives the impression that the machine is set to 1 card, but then you prove them wrong by having it reveal other cards. The machine is also very flat, making it hard to believe it could complete that kind of task. or, you could use the machine in order to find the spectators card and produce the symbol on it out of a box. It would be a machine that you could use for lots of effects.

Sounds good I would like to see a prototype of the machine, because I still can't imagine what it exactly does or how it looks ... .

Though expensive, Ceasaral has been offering a deck of "chipped" cards which are read, surreptitiously, by a small machine. Here, I think the idea is to make explicit the use of the machine? Would the allure of the machine be the absence of electronics?

Yes, it would be striictly mechanical and probably have a lock too. It would also be very portable.

Sounds like a neat gimmick. I hope you post a picture whenever you finish the prototype.
