Mike filed a lawsuit in Detroit MI and was contacted by a letter from the production company of both shows to appear on a show. I'm almost positive that if Mike thought he would win the lawsuit and he would prevail, he would also be awarded the court fees on top of the judgment; so if and when he paid the $120.00 he planned to have it returned to him at the conclusion of the case. |

Howie,
Do you not get what I said? He could not have filed in Detroit as his amount was to high in dollars. Remember Iive here. And if you watch the You Tube Video he is suing for $ 4000.00 which can be done in California. I believe he still contacted them referring to both TV Shows and got one to pick it up. As a matter of fact, since my brother is an Attorney I have him check and see if Mike actually filed a Small Claims Suit. I will get back to you in a few days with the information. Rodney

I found it rather confusing. You were "suing" someone because you didn't pick up your stuff from his garage...wha?
I loved how you started doing magic tricks for no reason what-so-ever. That was fun. Nicely performed too. Although I've never been a fan of the different coloured back thing. Doesn't really make any sense unless you asked the judge to colour in the back of his invisible card with an invisible pen. Although, it was still slightly less confusing than the other colour issue you brought up! I guess it's just a bit of nonsense for the sake of entertainment. A friend of mine got on to one of these shows with a made up case once (he was apparently being sued by his friend for hiring transvestites instead of strippers for his stag do!). It was pretty funny and they got a lot of money out of it. The program itself actually gave the money he was supposed to give to his friend to his friend, then they both split it. Plus they got a free holiday out of it. Shweet. |

A friend of mine has some very wise words of wisdom for anyone (especially entertainers) considering appearing on TV, Radio, in newspapers, etc:
"You don't manipulate the media, the media manipulate you." Of course, there are exceptional characters like Jordan (Katie Price), who lives locally. She is a phenomenon, as she has made a career out of being famous, despite having no obvious talent, looks, skills: nothing, in fact, which could justify her fame. Yet, she is all over the front pages of the newspapers, making national headlines on a regular basis. That's some talent, to achieve so much, with so little. I think she's simply amazing, imagine having a woman like that behind you. Katie set out to manipulate the press, and played them at their own game. She outsmarted the paparazzi, or rather, got them onto her side. Now she's a national treasure like Marmite: either loved or hated. Dynamike did OK on this occasion. Likewise, I got away with the documentary I was in a few years ago. But beware. Unless you're in control of the production, or are the "star" of a show, you can easily find yourself on the sharp end of the stick. |

That's interesting except for the fact that I have NO idea who Jordan, aka Katie Price, is! Apparently she has not manipulated the media in MY consciousness!

"As You Like It". Jaques' famous monologue Act II Scene VII:
"All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts, His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms. Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like snail Unwillingly to school. And then the lover, Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier, Full of strange oaths and bearded like the bard, Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel, Seeking the bubble reputation Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice, In fair round belly with good capon lined, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, Full of wise saws and modern instances; And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts Into the lean and slippered pantaloon, With spectacles on nose and pouch on side; His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice, Turning again toward childish treble, pipes And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all, That ends this strange eventful history, Is second childishness and mere oblivion, Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything." Quite brilliant, I do love The Bard. ;) |

If you believe he is not being truthful, it is a point that I never conceded and won't take into concretization. Another explanation could be, is that Mike original filed in small claims court for $3,000.00 and the production company raised the amount to over $4,000.00 for the show I guess we can't further discuss the posting until Mike chimes in, or you return with additional information from your brother confirming if a lawsuit was filed; or what court the lawsuit was filed in either small claims court, or superior court. |

First, it is not necessary to file a small claims case to get on the show. One simply has to apply.
http://judgemathistv.warnerbros.com/beontheshow/ Now, this may or may not be true, and I'm mentioning no names to protect the innocence [sic], but it's interesting and perhaps not surprising: I have a few friends in Delray, MI and one of them knows a magician who was recently a "defendant" on a TV judge show. The defendant told him that he and his friend came up with a scheme to get some TV publicity. The plan was that the "plaintiff" would file a claim for $4000 for a prop the defendant had and would not return. In the end they figured they'd get their names, faces, and brief descriptions of their shows on a big TV show and make a "couple grand" each. And the plaintiff would still have his prop. It seems that the plaintiff got nervous and "went off script" the moment the cameras started to roll. That might explain the "I'm also a motivational speaker with a Say No To Drugs show that I primarily do at kids birthday parties" statement. It also seems that the plaintiff also decided to do some tricks for the judge. The defendant was taken unaware by the change of plan and had no response but to laugh. The plaintiff may have gotten more nervous at seeing the defendant not playing his scripted part and so "pulled a race card." But he forgot the tape he had wouldn't jibe with that and so the whole scheme fell apart. The defendant is a bit sore at his friend for playing up the "tried to rip me off" story at every opportunity and bragging that he now has a fantastic promo clip where he fooled the judge who now wants to hire him for a party. I of course have no first-hand knowledge of any of this. It's all second or third-hand info and could be completely made up. But it's an interesting scenario. Is that close, Mike? |

I bet a lot of those cases are fake. One time on Divorce Court a lady and man claimed they were filing for divorce but the man's real wife heard about it and told the show in advance. The judge let the unmarried couple say a few sentences. Next the judge told the real wife to come out from being hidden in the witness room. The fake couple was embarrassed, especially the man because he was surprised his real wife knew about the fake case him and his friend made up.

Hmmm...
As seen on TV and of course youtube. I'm guessing you have lots of hits on that episode. My 29 seconds of fame on Ellen last week, (along with the 2 other contestants) has over 330,000 hits on youtube. Thanks Mike, for your suggestion to edit it(the video) after Ellen's comments about my schtick..and poor filming angle. (which by the way was probably one of the reasons her staff picked my video-playing harmonica with my nose. Shot from my chin up with a bright florescent light shining down)
