*** EXPECTED RELEASE DATE 17/3/14 ***
http://www.bigblindmedia.com/the-double-lift-project-dvd/ The Double Turnover (most usually referred to as a double lift) is perhaps the single most essential move in all of card magic. It is the act of turning over two playing cards whilst creating the impression that you are handling just a single card. It is invariably the first sleight magicians learn once they decide to progress from entirely self working card magic, and for many magicians it is the ONLY sleight they need to unleash all manner of magic chicanery on their spectators. And yet it is often performed clumsily, and in the exact same manner as it was first learnt. Indeed, many magicians spend a lifetime sticking to their initial method, and fail to take advantage of the numerous variations and context specific variants that exist. On the Double Lift Project you will find thorough, easy to understand, indepth teaching on fourteen different double lifts. With these moves in your arsenal you will be ready to perform a double lift regardless of the situation. From the top of the deck, the middle of the deck, from a packet of cards – you name it. You will also have the skills to ‘get ready’ for your double lift using a host of methods - thumb count (at the front or rear of the deck), a pinkie count, pushover and more. Then once you progress further into the DVD Liam will even teach you how to do triple, quadruple (or MORE) turnovers. Make no mistake – there are a lot of techniques, tips and skills to learn and enjoy! Regardless of whether you are just starting out in magic, or are a seasoned pro, there is something exciting to learn here. And ‘The Double Lift Project’ will provide utterly essential skills that will elevate your card magic to the next level. On the second half of the DVD your host, Liam Montier, presents some of the greatest card tricks ever invented – all using just a double lift! Mindblowing routines from the likes of Chad Long, David Solomon, Alex Elmsley & Peter Duffie will arm you with material guaranteed to blow an audience’s mind! I am SUPER excited for this one. I absolutely loved the Elmsley Count Project, and since the DL is used in so many effects, it's going to be nice to have a comprehensive DVD on just this subject. BBM always puts out well produced stuff, and it looks like it's going to cover a lot of material.

I hope you fix the spelling of Gary Ouellette's name before you release it.

I feel vindicated! Man I've preached for eons that the DL is dismissed as a "beginner's sleight" and most are performed very poorly. But I am a hack so I need a more authoritative voice and that voice is none other than Michael Close and his thoughts on the sleight in Workers.
I'm so glad Liam Montier and BBM are creating this project. Now maybe more card magicians' DLs will get the practice and polish they give to more "advanced" sleights! I will pick this up as well because it's handy to have all of these sources in one place. |

Hi Guys,
First up - Magicfish - I take responsibility for the spelling. It's not Ouelett, or Ouellette, but Ouellet. It's correct on all the project 'stings' and titles, but the typo on the box cover is down to me totally, and as somebody with a surname that is often mis-spelt and mis-pronounced, I should have spotted it. It's too late to be changed on the first run, but it will be corrected on future runs and pressings of the DVD. The format is practically identical to the Elmsley Count Project, so if you guys enjoyed that one, I'm sure you will like this one too. It covers all of what I consider to be the fundamental techniques, lots of tips, and goes from literally beginner right the way through to some of the harder stuff. I think we also got KILLER tricks for the project, so once you have your double lift sorted, you can some material you can drop straight into your set. Please fire away with any questions, either on here, or you can catch me on Facebook, by email, or the online Big Blind Media chat on the website. Cheers, Liam. |

Magicfish you seem to enjoy correcting spelling and grammar; yet your corrections are wrong as well.
There is nothing wrong with the word misspelt. Also, it's misspelled. |

Coming soon from BBM : The Pedants Project.
Post 1: Err.... I think you meant to call it "The Punctilious Project" I'm tempted by this, I think my DL is pretty good, but not perfect. For £20 the DVD is worth it, as I use DL quite a bit. A 10% improvement for me would be a result. (Also, Liams stuff I have bought in the past has always been good). |

How long is the DVD? How does it compare to Gregory Wilson's "Double Take?"
I found "Double Take" to be somewhat short on instruction (not being a card guy myself) and long on "tricks." I really wanted to learn the skill, not a bunch of tricks, many of which looked the same to me. |

Nice!
Like the music, too. Sorta sounds like the music from the George McBride DVD several years back. |
