I'm currently writing a gospel magic show; my first.
But I was touched by something that somebody told me after a "secular" house party gig the other night. As I was leaving and thanking the host for having me I was telling him that reactions and reception by the party goers was terrific. People really responded warmly to me and to my magic. I got lots of future leads and we all had a great time. In short, it was a great evening. He told me, "Well, you like people... and people like you!" I thought about that on my drive home. "...you like people... and people like you..." I didn't used to like people. Before I was saved I only liked me. Sometimes I didn't even like myself very much. I felt very blessed to have someone tell me something that pointed out such a miraculous change in my life. He didn't realize it; of course, he only knows the new Ted. But it made me realize that the love of Christ is shining through me into the lives of others in all that I do, not necessarily "gospel" magic. Sure I fail, but I'm talking about the prevailing course of my life. I like people... and people like me... what a difference. May God help us all to continually have this effect on people. Because it isn't even a like/like relationship. It's God loving them through us and them responding to it. No matter what work we happen to be doing; magic, baking or bean counting. My prayer for us today- may you love people with the love of God and may people experience it. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. 1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
