I am planning on getting a set. Right now I'm thinking of getting the double faced half dollar super triple coin. But there seems to be so many types of sets and I am not sure what to get. I am looking to perform 3 fly type of routines in a standup situation.
Also, do these coins require a lot of maintenance? One thing I did not enjoy about the flipper was maintenance and I like the expanded shell much better. Thanks. |

First of all, using halves for a standup three fly type routine isn't a good idea, they're just too small to look good. I have a Super Triple Double Face set made with Morgan Dollars. Requires no maintenance. Although it's possible that over time, the stickers may need replacing, but that's very easy.
I'm very happy with the reactions I get with this set. |

The "DFSTC" will fulfill your requirement. Plus, there is the added kicker ending with the Chinese coins. I have the Eisenhower set and like it fine. Also, on the DVD supplied, Johnny gives you several alternate effects.

If you want to perform a 3Fly you should consider "Come fly with me".... imho this is more practical than Johnnys sets (I do have Coin Bomber). And I agree to NicholasD: You should use silver dollars for standup.

Ah, and to add that: For CFWM there is nearly no maintenance needed..

Stand-up 3-Fly can certainly be done with half dollars. Personally I don’t think either size works well for parlour and definitely not for stage work. Only the very front row will be able to enjoy the routine. So if you are talking about close up only, either size will be adequate. (Remember, if your hand size won't allow you to perform the sleights well with dollar coins, there aren't any other options!)

Hand size isn't an issue with the DFSTC, there's no palming. So, why not use the larger coins?

But what if you're looking to get more than one routine out of the set, and some of those involve palming? It's suddenly an issue again. |

If you're still looking I have an Eisenhower dollar DFSTC offered in for sale forum.
Already has the optically clear teflon applied and ready to go in perfect condition. Comes with Wong's DVD as well as Paul Richard's routine DVD. |

Sorry guys but JJ's coin coalition is much better - no stickers and no sticking. No need to use lip balm or to coat the stickers with non-stick tape either! Plus as John sells directly, his prices are excellent. Here's a video of me using the set;
https://youtu.be/o7GEnrA3LYc By the way, I used to have the Wong set but sold them due to the sticking issues. John's set is only in Dollar size, but this isn't a problem in performance, plus much more visible than using half dollars

I agree, but notice that this thread is over four years old. The coin coalition wasn't an option back then.
I do realize that it was a hard detail to catch, though, because of the spammy bump. More of a statement at him than you, Sean. |

No worries; it happens.
I only noticed because he bumped a ton of other ancient threads, and I saw the pattern.

And now the mods have deleted the bump, and we're left with the extra comments anyway. :sigh:
