It has been about 20 years sense I have been on stage and I am looking to make a come back. I am developing a show with the theme of old magic and new attitude. the idea of it is showing some of the old classics to a new audience with updated routines for this generation of audiences. Thinking more realm of parlor magic. Linking Rings being one effect. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I miss being on stage and look forward to debuting this act. |

Cups and balls, Professors nightmare.. (easily lead off with Richard Sanders' Fiber Optics), Knotted silks, Miser's Dream, and even a few silk manipulations would be great for it, I think.
To me, those are definitely the classics and they're all some of my favorite tricks. I'm sure you know, the cups and balls would have to be exceptional in order to impress due to it's over exposure, but fiber optics would play great, Slydini's knotted silks is just one of my personal favorites.. Miser's dream... I dream about it. Silk productions, either with thumb tip, without, or whatever, is also great. |

It was the first two phases of Daryl's basic routine plus the last two of Mark Wilson's, ending with a lemon, onion and apple. It was a social occasion, not a gig (I'm an amateur)and I scattered just a small number of tricks/effects throughout the evening. I did Rope, Nut, Knot, then later did an ID routine, both of which got great reactions. Towards the end of the night I did the cups & balls routine and got the best reaction of all. So there's life in the old dog yet. |
