Interesting, Bill!

The brass one that I bought had no hallmark. (Davenport used a devil head or 'DEMON')

Of course, Petrie Lewis props didn[t always have a "P&L" either.

Without going back and trying to find the referenced page. I believe the guy said his brass one was not Hallmarked as well. It was Paul Daniels that said it was a Davenport item. This one was most likely before even you were born Dick. It look very beat up, and I was surprised that Paul Daniels would have been using such a dented and scratched up box. I don't think Paul Daniels has published his routine for the brass Demon box.

Dick, I have a P&L wand levitation clip, that is not Hallmarked by P&L. I know it is a P&L because it was in their classic blue box and red tissue paper.

With the DoveLite Silk 20th Century Silks there is no metal gimmick and that solves all kinds of problems.

Frankly, in real life (with only 54 years in professional magic) I find that the easiest way to vanish the silk is to combine the trick with Silk to Egg. It leaves you clean! Plus gives two great effects!

Time to fess up. Decades ago I saw 20th Century SIlks performed and did not know method. All of my silkss were 5&Dime purchases

So, I invented a way to do the effect.

1) tie two green silks together
2) place in cup with a red rubber ball to "hold them in." All cannot be seen.
3) place a red silk into left fist
4) open left hand to reveal red ball and no silk.
5) pull silks out of cup and ball has vanished -- red silk is between the two green.

Later I got a "real" set, but liked the reaction from fellow magicians at "the Club" to the first one.

Anyone can PM me for method if they can't figure out how a 12 year old did this.

We are busy performing through February. Convention season for me usually doesn't begin until March.

There may be some club lectures. Where are you?
