Dave, that's an outline for a cups and balls routine including the final loads.
Cartman's tea party is a south park reference. using a smartphone is more contemporary and less "quaint".

I'll stick with the old school purse frame, imo those zippers are ugly, but that's me.
Maybe you may get better mileage iyo, plus being made in China they are made with poisonous plastic chemicals. I don't/won't support chinese junk destroying our environment. |

As Edgar Bergen might say, On the other hand.
This depends on the age of your audience and your character portrayed while doing magic. Or perhaps I should have typed as Jeff Dunham might say, "on the other hand". The zippers could go right along with the 14 number 19 rubber bands on your wrist to help you quit something, or to do some linking rubber band and coin work.

Rajesh is right, I'm not saying to abandon your purse frames, the title is to get your attention. This is help you expand a bit push the boundaries. You may find things you can do with the Zippers that you cannot do with a purse frame. And this spurred the video discussion with MB and Jonathan. It's good to think outside the box.
Tree - I also included a video where you can make your own Zipper bracelet, which I prefer.

This argument on what is passe, quaint, out of style is irrelevant. The moment some young upstart puts out a DVD with a fresh new handling we'll all be scrambling for our purse frames, silks and magic wands.

People like the sponges and purse frame. The Roth hole routine is poetic. Until the muses or someone suggests a killer application for the prop I'll leave it in the drawer.
I'll be too busy making pics and videos for my phone to care about miming use of something my grandmothers stopped using twenty years before they passed on. its like giving a kid a dime when they put a tooth under their pillow. way more than ten minutes ago. Anyone can get clever about kicking a dead horse. Magic is vital. What's relevant now?

The topic is finding a substitute for the purse frame prop.
Histories, both accepted and alternate are a different topic. the smell of the soup ( the sound of the money) is a cute story.

The punkest I've gone was sharpie through my ear
It appealed more to teen audiences, than coin from their ears. The zippered tongue is an interesting photo shopped item. Not my cup of Java, but I thought I would put/pour it out there.
