Tomoyuki Shimomura's "Magic Calendar," originally issued as a Plus One item over a decade ago, has just been reissued by Tenyo and is now widely available. You can get it on eBay from Hitomi at magico-Japan.

Thanks Richard. I have a number of Diary effects and perform "Chronologue" quite often. The effect write up is a bit vague and mentions a picture of the selected card matches the picture on thier birthdate. I assume no deck is used and some other limiting/forcing proceedure is used. Price is reasonable.

Thanks for sharing the info, the design looks elegant. Does anyone have a review of this trick?

The only reviews are on Stereo's excellent blog: http://tenyo-magic.blogspot.com/search/l......20tricks

Start there and scroll down until you find it.

Received this last week. Well made for the price. Not an earth shattering effect but a nice informal piece of magic/mentalism. Always nice when you can make an effect resonate personally for the spectator and in this case using thier birthdate does that. I could see using this method and making up a date book with foods, cities, products related to your business, etc.

I can't think of a less expensive version of a diary trick.

This looks great, it should be possible to make a custom calender book right? If you just copy the one given. I wanted to do custom pictures too.

Yes you can. But if you're going to make custom pictures you'll have to make stickers to put on the chips, or even better, you can use your own chips of course - but you probably figured that out yourself Smile

Hmmm...I'm not sure I like this. With a deck of cards there are are 52 possibilities (in the spectators mind) while this has only 8.
