Joe, this one has the same issues as the first one. It's still too busy. If I didn't know your name, I would not be able to distinguish the initials. I realize each of the symbols represents something important to you, but you can't throw it all in there because it makes it confusing. I would lose the spiral. A spiral is generally not a great thing to put in a logo because it is a very distracting image. A logo should sum you up in a quick glance. It should not be a piece of interpretive art. I like the eye inside the P, but there should be more definition between the iris and the pupil. In summary, redo the initials, use better graphics on the eye, lose the spiral, and put a little color in it.
Please view this as trying to be helpful and constructive vs being negative and critical. |

I understand the logo is a bit busy. This one was designed by a heavy metal artist. As I do much or my cabaret shows to that audience, I thought I should use something fitting that genre.
For example here is the logo of one of the biggest Australian metal bands Psycroptic. I think you will find much of that scene really did this style of art. I do have another one on its way in a different style. But I also dig the look of my new one. The first one I posted I wasn't happy with, which is why I ask what I should change. This one I like. Maybe a version with out the paint drips would look neater for use on say a business card. But overall I like it. ![]() |

Don't like it. Don't get it. It tells me nothing about you or who you are. Maybe at 40 I'm too old to get what hip is. I just know it looks line a train wreck.

Well I've been a bit of a train wreck from time to time... Rock & Roll does that to you.
This was designed by a Rock & Roll arist who works for the metal label I do shows with. I am open to suggestions, what would you suggest Mr Lyle? |

Hey Joe, Ya don't have any respect for the suggestions of a "new user"? LOL.
I am going to perform some Mentalism. I predict Chris will make basically the same recommendations. Ha Ha. Wishing you the best. |

Hack: I am a professional magician but also a professional graphic designer by trade for over 25 years. Let me chime in here and try and give you honest feedback and advice that I hope might be of help to you.
The first rule of graphic design is that it MUST convey and communicate who you are, what you do and the services and product you offer. It must do so clearly and within seconds of seeing it. If it does not, then it fails to communicate and that is a bad brand and brand recognition. The second rule is that graphic design is never about making something look cool. Yes it needs to convey your personality and who you are but too many designers or beginner designers try and make something look cool as the only intention behind what it is they do. When looking at your mark, it looks cool but fails to communicate. It doesn;t say anything or enough to the prospect as to who you are and what you do. The failure to communicate this information hurts your brand and does nto serve you well. You also have to find a designer who speaks your language. If your designer did not sit with you and spend at least an hour or more asking questions about who you are, what your intentions are, what you do, what markets you work or try to work, then they did not do their homework. You need a designer who speaks your language and who knows that this (logo) is the essence of a brand. They must know your business as well as you do. Anything short of that doesn;t help you. I hope this is of help. If I can be of any further help, please PM me. I know what you are after and I have done stuff for others in your same age bracket and in the same feel for what you are trying to achieve. Your current designer (nothing personal) is just not understanding you well enough to showcase the magical nature of what you are offering. Kyle Peron http://www.facebook.com/perondesign

I'll take in board what you said and take a look at your stuff Magic4u02.
But for the Heavy Metal scene, they live this style of design. Some bands logos you can barely read the name. But they seem to like it that way. Like I said for a 'commercial' audience maybe something different. |

Yeah it's pretty cool JoeJoe. But it's a few years old and she's impoverished a lot since then.
I'm getting some new photos done and see what she can do now. ![]() |
