Surfer's Paradise?

Woo hoo, I liked that place. (Even if it is sortof touristy, I still found enough happening there to have a good time for 3 or 4 days.) Do the canal cruise, if you have the time.

And try "Shiraz Authentic Persian Restaurant" for some cheap and really very good value kebab. I noticed just now that it is #2 on TripAdvisor.

Of course, the still missing plane is still a mystery but FWIW:

I'm tired of FWIWs. No Answers yet, so guess what? FWIW = KaKa till it's solved. Smile

But this at least is reasonably worked out KaKa unlike the concept of black holes or aliens.

Well no hope now - went down in the middle of Indian Ocean, but years of investigation and conjecture to go I suppose.

Not enough info here to expect families to accept there's "no hope now", in my opinion. They deserve more than the following to get to "no hope now", I say, as do many others:

"They inform me that Inmarsat, the UK company that provided the satellite data which indicated northern and southern corridors, has been performing further calculations on the data, using a type of analysis never before used in an investigation of this sort. "

Yeah, I'm not convinced yet either. Too much other false information. They'll need to at least come up with some plane parts clearly identified as belonging to the flight.

This recent article does not really say much, but FWIW:

Report: Pilot of Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 Now Chief Suspect

More than three months after Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 and its 239 passengers went missing without a trace, the pilot of the plane is now the “chief suspect” in Malaysia's official police investigation, according to The Sunday Times.

Captain Zaharie Shah, 53, reportedly had made no social or work-related plans for the future, unlike the rest of the plane’s crew, the Times writes. Investigators were also able to analyze data off of Shah’s personal flight simulator, which he had programmed to practice landing on a short runway on islands in the southern Indian Ocean. The data had been deleted but were recovered by investigators, according to the report.

The investigators have not ruled out the possibility that the plane’s disappearance was the result of mechanical failure or an act of terrorism, but if it went missing due to human intervention, the pilot is considered the most likely "culprit," according to the Times.

"The police investigation is still ongoing. To date no conclusions can be made as the contributor to the incident, and it would be sub judice to say so," Malaysia police told the newspaper. "Nevertheless, the police are still looking into all possible angles."

Maybe. Just reporting what I read. I happened to see it in the Daily Mail but the story appears in many other newspapers. Apparently he's (at least) the second major executive at an airline to question the official story (see below).

The boss of Emirates Airlines, Sir Tim Clark, has said he believes missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 did not go down in the Indian Ocean. Emirates Airlines operates 127 Boeing 777 airplanes – more than any other airliner - which is the same model of missing MH370. Sir Tim said it was the total disappearance of the aeroplane that ignited his suspicions ...

Daily Mail was just repeating what was reported elsewhere.

http://www.thelocal.fr/20141219/french-e......vered-up

The source was Paris Match, a French magazine:

"A popular news and current-events magazine aimed at the middle class ... In its early decades [Paris Match] was often compared to the American magazine Life (1936–72), which it far outlived. Paris Match was acquired by Jean Prouvost, publisher of the daily Le Figaro, and he led the magazine to high prestige and financial success. Its ownership eventually passed, by the early 21st century, to the French conglomerate Lagardère. Paris Match appeals to a broad spectrum of the French people and is one of the most widely circulated magazines in France."
