Is anyone doing Loopey Loop AKA the Australian Belt Swindle? I once knew how to do it, but never performed it due to a lack of a good presentation. It was hard to learn from 2D illustrations too. I even saw David Roth lecture at Abbott's Close Up convention back in 1996 on this. Any video links or presentational ideas would be appreciated. A tutorial/video link on the moves would be great too.

Search for button hole puzzle on
You will find what you are looking for.

It is a great effect, and still goes down well.

The Belt Swindle, or the Strap is a different thing than the Australian Rope Swindle, On the Barrelhead, or Loopy Loop.

The Strap uses a cloth webbing or leather belt which is folded and rolled into a tight circle.

Fast and Loose and Pricking the Garter are the old names for this scam which dates back to the Renaissance.

On the Barrelhead, Australian Rope Swindle, and others that involve an endless loop of string, rope or chain are a slightly different and newer version of this ancient scam that is from the 19th Century.
