Does anyone here still use the Virtual Soundman 7.5 ?
It used a mini disc player.

Do they still make mini discs? I use a Virtual Soundman, but it's with an Ipod.

I haven't heard of anyone using mini discs in years. With newer technology like playlists and apps, it's a little silly to think of burning a CD of each playlist you have for your show.

With new technologies like the Show Cues app, I think Virtual Soundman is old technology, but still very pricey.

Plus, if it breaks, you're out of luck. No company to send it back to, no way to get repairs.

Hope that helps,
Kevin

I updated to the Ultimate Control about a year and a half ago. Before that, I used the mini disk VSM for about 7 years.

I used to use the Virtual Soundman (with mini discs), but due to programming difficulties switched to Sound Control (with an iPod). Had a few "live" remote control issues, though. So finally I invested in the Ultimate Control (which is a self-contained mp3 player with remote control). Been very happy and satisfied with my purchase. It has performed beautifully!

I too switched to the Ultimate Control a while ago after having used the Virtual Soundman for 11 years.
I was just wondering if anyone still used the VS.

You should also consider Cue Command… www.DeceptivelySimple.com

It has a powerful remote transmitter but unlike Ultimate Control, there is no need to convert the audio files to MP3’s. If it plays on your iPod, iPad or iPhone, it will work with Cue Command.

Best always,

Holy cow that's an expensive system! With technology the way it is, that seems very over-priced.

Most apps are $5-$50, I think Show Cues is around $100.
