Thanks guys.
this will have different variations so you can choose the way you want to perform it, and it doesn't have to be exactly like I do, you can pick and choose your favorite method and go from there. There will also be a Bonus ACAAN on there, in which you have someone think of a card, and you go through the whole bits as described above, and instead of telling them their age from the memory, you have them count down to the age themselves, and their thought of card will be there. Just a little bonus I will throw in as an alternative. There will also be variations not using a deck of cards for those that don't like to use cards in mentalism, as well as a variation using Tarot Cards, and a variation using playing cards but as a reading rather than as actual playing cards. Thanks for the support Alex Alejandro

The effect sounds similar to Fraser Parker's Memoria. Interested in what you have created, look forward to it.

Hi BMW Guy,
Could you clarify something for me? I'm a little confused... In the original post you say: Quote:
I have talked to Peter about it, but he has been very busy, so I am sure he will be collaborating quite possibly on this project with me, or helping me out where need be. And then you state: Quote:
I will not release it until I talk to Peter and we agree 100% that its good to go. But what I'm confused about is how much involvement has Peter Turner had with this so far? Has be simply been the 'inspiration' for your idea? Or have you two collaborated on this together? Or is he 'endorsing' it because he's seen it and is suitably impressed? If he's just the inspiration for this (in much the same way as the works of Marlo or Vernon may inspire someone to develop a new card routine) then I think this thread is quite misleading. However, if its a collaboration then this is very interesting and I think you should make it clearer if this is the case. Likewise, if he actually endorses the effect currently, again this is interesting and you should make this clear. Whichever it is, I (and I suspect many others), would appreciate clarity. |

Sounds wonderful. Looking forward to it for sure.
for titles, what about; Reminisce (seems to fit. it means "indulge in enjoyable recollection of past events.") or Unforgettable

I don't know if that's an issue, Reminisce and Reminiscence are different words technically speaking (one's a verb and the other's a noun). Also, effects come out with similar and even same titles all the time.

Hi jgodwin,
Peter Turner was the inspiration for me to create this effect, and I have talked to him about it and we have chatted briefly. I told him I would write it up and then send him a copy, and he would take a look, add his own ideas, and subtleties, and then I would release it as a collaboration project. I want this to be as complete as possible, and have everything in there for you all. My thinking is derived from Peter Turners thinking, adding my own ruses, and subtleties but still having the feel for story-telling and creating a beautiful moment for the spectator. Thanks more info later... Alex

Good news,
I talked to Peter about it, he asked me to write everything up, and then he would take a look at everything and then we can tweak and fix where necessary. I want to take my time with this and make sure its perfect before releasing. I will keep you all updated on progress. Thanks for the support Alex

Hey guys,
I have been busy with other projects, and have some free time finally from now till mid July, so I will get to work on this again, and pick up from where I left off. Sorry I havent gotten back, just been busy with work, projects, and other things, plus I got hired to do a mentalism lecture at a convention recently, and so I have to prepare for that. I am also organizing the convention here in Mexico in August, which will house Francis Menotti, John Born, Bizzaro, Fenik, and many more. Lots of work so little time. This will more than likely have input from Luca Volpe, Atlas Brookings, Michael Murray, and Peter Turner, and Fraser Parker. I need to pick up where I left off and go from there. Thanks for all the support guys. BTW, things that are worth checking out if you are into mentalism: Docc Hilford Lecture on Penguin Train Tracking by Atlas Brookings The Business by Romanos was quite good that's it for now. Thanks a lot Alex Alejandro

What about "A trip down memory lane", or some variation (maybe just "Memory Lane")?
I prefer reading an explanation from a PDF, but a performance video is always cool to watch and might help in better understanding the subtleties of the effect (things like timing, posture, etc). |
