This looks great very visual and examinable at the end. I am just about to check if any UK dealers have this in stock. Does anyone already have this who can post a quick review?

Anybody have this?
Just curious how it differs from any of the similar type effects such as Shock Twist and Spin Doctor? Any advantages? |

What happened to describing the effect in words? What kind of ad doesn't even give you the basics?

This is a nice concept for a routine showing them something and explaining how its done; then you hit them with the cards all changing to aces and the backs change, very nice as I said.

Even though the trailer shows the spectators reacting uncontrollably with laughter and amazement I wonder how well this really plays. As mentioned above there are so many packet tricks similar to this I would love to hear from those that have performed it. I also don't like that he ditches 2 cards making it obvious he was using more than 4 to begin with. Any thoughts on this?

I love how card guys assume that an effect with an Elmsley Count is "easy to do". Anyone else here remember what it was like first trying to learn that move?

I like this a lot. I like "garden path" tricks where the spectators are absolutely sure one thing is going on and then -- Boom! -- you destroy their perception.
Krowboom, what makes you think this wouldn't play well? I think it would kill! Think about from a lay person's point of view: they clearly saw four cards with and blue backs. Then they transform into Aces with multi-colored backs. Their brains explode. By the way, he only ditches one card (or apparently one card) and it magically appears back in the packet, so it's logical that you still have four cards.

I don't know if it will play well, or if people will buy into the fact he ditches a card and it comes back, that's why I ask how well it plays from those who have performed it. Like I said, there are many tricks out there that are almost identical to this one. I don't see this one as being all that different. Maybe I'm totally wrong and that's why I would like to hear from people who actually have this. Another comment is that when he counts the cards it looks like he is counting 5 not 4 cards. It is one strange looking Elmsley count. Any opinions on that.

I'm always curious about replacement cards and how easy they are to obtain or make. One benefit of Rainbow Connection could be that the gaffs appear to be of the easily obtainable variety (standard RB or RR DB cards). That means you can build a new packet when your cards get worn out or damaged.
That's my suspicion although I haven't watched the routine closely enough to see if there are any gaffs more "special" than that. I found the trailer too annoying to watch multiple times because of all the cuts, hype and other nonsense. But I digress. Rob P.S. I love performing Nick Trost's Razzle Dazzle but dread the cards getting worn because they're not easy to replace and I don't think the trick is being sold any more. If you know of a a non-hair-pulling way of making your own DB/DF cards, please PM me! |
