Peter duffies 'ghost flight' is a solid effect. And imo, it doesn't get much better than 'Virginia City shuffle', an effect I've kept since I started in cardmagic.
I'm sure I remember sadowitz doing a blank card routine where various swear words kept appearing. Don't think it's published though. I'd forgotten about paramount by Aldo. I went crazy the first time I saw it! K |

Thanks for finding that.I'd been to some German sites searching, but wasn't sure what I was seeing, not knowing how to speak/read the language. -) Larry |

On Mar 31, 2014, Vlad_77 wrote: Hey Vlad! Thanks for your posts. To start off, I wanted to let you know that you are not invisible to me. Your numerous contributions to the forums have improved every thread you post in. I would even compare you to Etinne…And you know that is a compliment. Anyway, I agree with you. It is much more satisfying than using Behr's wonderful tool. You are certainly welcome for creating this thread, and I hope that if it becomes a substantial list/resource thread, the admins will sticky bun it. Trost does have some pretty cool blank routines…Here are just a few: Blanko Wild Card: You show six cards with blank faces and one Ace (or any other card). One by one you rub the blank cards across the Ace and each one changes to an Ace. At the finish, you can show seven Aces, front and back! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=637 Twisto Blanko: An effective progressive ‘twisting’ routine, very easy to do. You show four-of-a-kind (say the four Queens), all face up. The cards magically turn face down one by one. When the last card is turned face up again, its face has vanished. Not only that, but the faces and backs of all the cards have disappeared. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=537 Flim Flam: In effect, one unknown card is put aside, then five other cards are shown to be blank on both sides. The performer claims that he will magically print three of the blank cards to match the unknown card. One by one, three blank cards change to ten-spots. But when the unknown card is shown, it is a four, so obviously a mistake has been made. However, when the three tens are shown again, these have changed to fours, so now all four cards match. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=532 Pop Eyed Poker: Spectators’ eyes will pop when you show them this effect! Five cards are shown to be blank front and back. Instantly they change to a super poker hand, only to change back to blanks again. The backs and fronts appear magically! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=705 Un-Cards: A smash hit with cards! Nine blank-faced “Un-Cards” are dealt into a row on the table, some of them face up and some face down. Now the performer hands out a prediction. He has a spectator roll an invisible “Un-Die” to freely select a number, which is used to count to a card in the row. The selected card is shown to be the only red card. The prediction is then shown to be correct; it says, “YOU WILL SELECT THE RED CARD.” Easy to do. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=495 Zack Johnston |

Jamy Swiss has a BRILLIANT routine that combines Aldo's Factory Misprints and Dr. Daley's Last Trick. The wonderful routining leaves them with the impression that they handled EVERY single card, even though they haven't.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Presto Printo by Daryl! If anyone is not familiar with the effect, here is a performance by the creator himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz_pRoJmhgo
I have two packet tricks with blank cards by Aldo Colombini, and a few from Peter Duffie that I would like to add to the list: Free Choice by Peter Duffie: You show four-of-a-kind, say the four Kings, and lay them in a face-down row on the table. Twelve blank-faced cards are shown and a spectator deals three cards onto any King (free choice). The spectator himself deals the remaining nine blank cards so that there are three face-up cards on each remaining Kings. You pick up each packet in turn and after showing the King you cause it to vanish leaving four blanks. The spectator turns over his freely chosen leader pile to find all four Kings. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=233 Blinder by Peter Duffie: A spectator shuffles a packet of cards and the magician places two predictions in front of two spectators. Each selects a card while the cards are in their hands and they match the predictions. Finally, all the other cards are blank. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......ts_id=72 Clear Thought by Peter Duffie: Four cards (say Queens) are placed face up on the table and a spectator thinks of one of them. Four more cards - blank on both sides – are introduced. A spectator chooses one of these cards and now it has changed into a duplicate of the spectator’s thought-of card. You take the remaining three blank cards and change them into duplicates of the other three Queens. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=165 Dazed by Peter Duffie: Two cards are placed face up on the table. You now show four misprinted cards that have backs on both sides - except for one, which has a back and a blank face. You now add the first card to the packet and suddenly all the cards print with faces of the selection! You repeat this with the second card to cause all the cards to print to duplicates of this card! Finally you pick up the card with the blank face. “This,” you state, “is an eraser!” You now prove this to be so because, suddenly, all the cards turn blank. http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=594 Point Blank Assembly by Peter Duffie: Four Aces (or any four-of-a-kind) change places one at a time with blank cards. The transposition is repeated, only this time it occurs instantly. Finally, the four Aces disappear altogether and ALL THE CARDS ARE BLANK! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=152 STUND! by Peter Duffie: A spectator cuts the deck. You show a packet of four cards and proceed to relate a story about going to a magic shop and wanting to buy a trick. A Joker is shown and placed to the bottom of the packet. It rises to the top. You continue to place the Joker to the bottom, but it continues to come to the top. When you show the cards, they are all the same, but they are all blank! You DEFINITELY wanted to buy the trick, but you’re too late, because now you instantly show all four previously blank cards to have SOLD signs on them!!! A “SOLD” sign vanishes from one card. And THAT is the card you bought! The spectator turns over the card he cut to - it may be the JD. When you pass the magic card through your hand, the JD appears printed on it! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=240 YIKES! by Peter Duffie: A wild card routine where a spectator cuts the deck and deals off four random cards. You now show a packet of seven cards - six of the cards have blank faces, the seventh is blank on both sides. The latter card is the special “image copier.” The six blank-facers are laid out in pairs on the table. One by one, the image copier causes a selection to appear on each of the blank pairs. But that’s only three of the selections - what about the fourth? In a dramatic flourish, you pull back the top card of each pair simultaneously revealing that the three mates of the card have magically printed to make a FOUR-OF-A-KIND! ALL THE CARDS ARE NOW PRINTED! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=175 The Erasers by Aldo Colombini: Three selected cards are placed, one at a time, between two double-blank cards and they vanish, leaving three cards completely blank on both sides. The selections reappear reversed in the middle of the deck! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=595 Mixed Relations by Aldo Colombini: A wild card effect where a card is selected and left face up on the table (say the 4C). You show four blank-faced cards. Immediately, all the cards turn out to be duplicates of the previously selected card! http://www.wildcolombini.com/cart/produc......s_id=453 Whew! My top three favorites from this list are Point Blank Assembly by Peter Duffie, Dazed by Peter Duffie, and Presto Printo by Daryl. Zack Johnston |

Zack- I was just going to say "Presto Printo". You are so right. Even though it starts with a card selected from the deck, it turns into a packet trick that starts out with blank cards. This is one of my favorite effects.

"Not Another Three Card Trick" by Paul Hallas. Blank cards turn into threes, with a comical ending. Whilst on the market it's als in "Small But Deadly".
"Pronto Printo" By Peter Duffie. Four blank cards are shown both sides. First a selection appears between them, It is removed, disappears then they all turn into the selection. When I do it I prefer a four of a kind ending rather than four duplicates. "Clone Zone" by Peter Duffie and the later variant "Cloned". Blank cards create various selections and eventually the selections themselves become blank. Whilst previously on the market the playing card version can be found in my packet trick book "Small But Deadly". The animal version "Cloned" is still on the market. |
