I've been working on a false transfer using the CP. Nothing exciting about that, so to make it more of a challenge for myself, I start with four halves in the right hand, showing the left empty. Using a throw instead of moving the hands together, I toss three into the left hand, using my CP to hold a single in the right hand. Then, repeat: holding out one coin in left hand CP, I toss two back into the right. No problem if the tossed coins hit the CPd half, for obvious reasons. So, now I have two 'free' coins in the right, and one in each hand, CPd. This is where the fun starts! Toss only one coin from right to left, by (you guessed it) CPing a second coin in your right hand. Finally, make a tossing motion with both hands upwards, (keeping the palms just out of sight), then let the hands drop naturally to your sides.

This little idea came to me when practicing coin tossing from hand to hand, while holding out one to four coins, using the CP and/or FP. You could do the same routine, but end up with all four in one hand..sort of a poor-man's coins across Smile

This is clearly not news to the experienced guys here, but may help non-experts as myself.

Cheers

Sounds interesting. Could you post a video though? It would help the written description of what you are doing.

David Roth and I independently came up with the same general idea almost 40 years ago. It looks a little more elegant if you let the Rt hand coin in CP drop on to the coin that doesn't go across ( both coins remain in fingertip rest and can be finger palmed or classic palmed depending on the routine ). What's nice is that the sight of the coin going across and the sound give the distinct impression that both went. David Roth published it in his Expert Coin Magic book. I don't write books, but I showed it to Harvey Rosenthal, who immediately came up with a couple of routines with it.

Thanks Nicholas, now I know who to credit with this. Another variation is to CP a fifth coin of a different colour, copper comes to mind, and work it in to one of the throws. Then pretend to be surprised when it pops up with three halves...and so on, and so forth.

MRSharpe, I will attempt a video after I get this down a little better.

Cheers

Its great to have palming technique.

Motivating the transfers, especially throws, is a separate challenge.
