Has anyone seen this teaching DVD yet? I just watched the trailer and was incredibly annoyed by what appeared to be OODLES and oodles of editing (frame removals).
I'm usually the first to buy these "coin sleight" DVDs… and a lot of the stuff he's doing looks pretty cool. But just by the way they edited the trailer footage, I am a bit suspicious. If I buy it… I'll review it. But I am hesitant to spend $45 bucks on it just for 6 routines that I won't be able to do without "editing" my moves! Any insights are welcome. Thanks, Brian |

I watched it and it doesn't feel like it would work well in a working environment. I own Arming System as well and the angles are pretty bad and seeing how they say you will learn arming, it probably is going to use a lot of that same sleight. The moves also felt a bit jerky like he wanted to go for the larger motion covers the smaller motion a bit too much during the crucial moments. Now I'm not going to say it's a terrible DVD because I don't have it yet, I just feel it has that "Webcam" or "Youtube" angles that is harder to control when performing to an audience.
Current things to work on: Everything loops, Pinky count, Coins coins coins...

I think this is one of those DVDs that you need to watch ALL the way through. The first set of moves are very angly and a bit jerky. The other problem I have with some of the early stuff is, for me to do it, it requires a certain lotion (I could only get the moves to work using Gorilla snot). I would rather learn moves that don't require lotions or potions.
However, he then goes into some other moves that I think are very smooth, not angly at all, and very visual. Best of all, none use gimmicked coins. Many of the coin DVDs were just too much work for me. I like to go for something that gets the most entertainment out of modest work. I prefer creativity over things that take knuckle grinding work. I had a tough time with much of Ponta's work. However, I find quite a bit on this DVD that is very workable. KJ |

I was on the edge with this one, I have basic coin moves down..slowly working on it. But I think this is a step too far for me at the min! Looks good though!
Are there any routines that are relative simple? Nothing too extreme? Thanks |

I saw the trailer for this as it came up in a previous thread. To me, a lot of it looks like it's just too fast and flinchy and I had a hard time even noticing a couple of the coin changes simply because he was going so fast. However, I saw a review on it that seemed promising.
I'm considering buying it as I'm sure there is more than likely a couple of good moves and methods worth learning.

It got a strong review on a recent Wizard Product Review. Their comment about angles was more or less, "Yes it is angly, but if you're strolling, where people are sitting down and you are standing up so they are looking up at you, then your angles will be fine." So you can't do the material everywhere, but there are real-world situations where it will work.
My perspective, though, is that I'm not convinced lay people will be any more amazed by a Holy COW routine than they would be by, say, Slydini's one coin routine. So it's not clear to me what all the modern sleight-technology buys the performer. |

This is just my 2 cents but the magic on the DVD is, to me, incredibly unnatural looking. Very awkward and suspicious movements make up the core of the techniques. Watch the reactions of the spectators - pretty meh. Agreeing with Aaron above - compare the spectators reaction to a Slydini routine to this. I'm all for furthering the art, I think Ponta is a brilliant sleight of hand artist but for me, this DVD didn't offer much beyond a single move that I feel has limited applications. Beyond that - these were some of the more unmagical performances I've seen in a long time. IMHO

For me I am always open to learn new moves, maybe I will use it, maybe I will not, but like Ponta's Sick, I actually use some of this
routine when performing, I just take the moves I learn and combine with my own routine. But to be honest, I do a lot of table hopping and walk around magic, no one ever question about my moves, some of them to me are not nature, but it all work out (maybe it just me ) I place my oder already, will share the review once I get it and watch it ![]()
