Al Mann published some of his releases on dark red paper and which, I should imagine, would have made photocopying (and scanning, even though it was not available then) difficult. However the colour of the paper did not make the contents an easy read and also required good light. Also, while a novel idea, to have a book published so that it could only be read in UV light would be off-putting.
To prevent copying, could certain pages be given identifying marks? Like so many, can't wait to buy a ticket so can go Train Tracking. Neil |

I think Ultraviolet ink would merely slow down the determined pirate in his copying the text. I do think it is a good idea to make identifying marks coupled with the promise of vigorous prosecution of copyright infringement.

Found this - may be of use? (may not....)
http://www.tightwadmarketing.com/copying.htm Must be a type of paper/ink that is easy enough to read but yet does not allow photo copying....? Dave. (the domino king) |

Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I think an industrious thief would probably find a way forward regardless of what type of ink or paper it was printed on. The best thing to do is to encourage people to respect our art form and place importance on the secrets that we keep.

What about the use of the EURion constellation on every page of the book? "The EURion constellation is a pattern of symbols incorporated into a number of banknote designs worldwide since about 1996. It is added to help imaging software detect the presence of a banknote in a digital image. Such software can then block the user from reproducing banknotes to prevent counterfeiting using colour photocopiers." (source: Wikipedia.org)
This might not be the soulution but a helpful adition to hidden identifying marks. Best, Hans |

Interesting idea, may not stop all copying/scanning though. EUR is used for copiers, Imaging software uses other techniques as well.

Does this work every single time, or does it just give you an educated guess of what they are thinking.

Today I Skyped with Atlas, and on top of being a warm and laid back fella, I was left with one of the best experiences of my life. Of course this was after witnessing live the much discussed Train Tracking.
Lets get to the meat and potatoes. Atlas asked me to think of a word (really, any word in the English language). After a short interaction he asked if I was thinking of the word 'Magpie'. He was correct and I was left genuinely stunned. Then he accurately told me what various words, images and memories I had thought of during our conversation. I perform professionally and consume lots of first rate material. But sadly I rarely get the opportunity to experience mind reading with me being the participant. I was lucky to watch Derren Brown live last week and even got to be on stage with him (and it was brilliant of course). However after being Train Tracked, it was the first time in my life it genuinely felt like someone else was inside my head. In fact once Atlas told me the word I was thinking and all the other stuff, I felt a little disorientated as my mind was spinning with shock after the revelation. I know this may read as hyperbole, but I'm attempting to convey how it made me feel. And Atlas was generous enough to discuss with me the bare bones which makes Train Tracking possible. This enabled us to discuss in detail the learning required to master this. The reassuring realisation is that Train Tracking is nowhere near as daunting as I had first anticipated and is clearly within reach of most people (providing they are prepared to spend time practicing it). And to echo others, now I have experienced Train Tracking I fully understand how it's a tool to many creative pathways and not just a single routine. I was never on the fence about this (Atlas has never in my opinion released a weak product) but after today I cannot wait to purchase and being learning this. So Atlas, thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful experience and leaving me for the first time in a long time, truly astonished. p.s I haven't even mentioned the bonus Atlas is planning for Train Tracking. It's a journey your participant takes in their mind and is quite beautiful. That's all I have to add. Thanks again |

Just to add to my post above.
Before we started Train Tracking, I was expecting in order for this to work, Atlas was somehow going to have to restrict me in some way or box off my choices in a subtle way. He never did. We simply went throughout the process and he then told me what I was thinking. |

Hi Train Trackers,
after reading bond19's description of what it is like to experience Train Tracking I must say: TT seems to be out of my reach in terms of finance as well as in terms of experience. I mean for now, there are a bunch of other skills as a mentalist to be learned til perfection. But reading all along this topic made me excited like a child before Christmas and I would love to be a participant. Whoever wants can perfom Train Tracking on me! Just for the joy of the experience as a spectator and hopefully for your practise. To be absolutly clear: I am not interested in the method! I'm interested in the experience. So if anybody is happy to perform Train Tracking with me, now or in the futur, send me a pm and we get in contact (over skype). kind regards Hans |

I think Atlas has already posted in this thread about how this is not 100% although with practice you can probably get this 99.9% sure fire and whilst there is a small percentage chance that you may not hit on the word you can still hit on their thought processes. I would say that it gives you a highly educated idea of their word often to the point of complete certainty. Atlas hits on some very obscure words, in fact I'm certain Atlas would hit on the word obscure however to imply that this is 100% sure fire guaranteed to hit would be to misrepresent it. However the method itself is capable of devining any and every word in any language. The limiting factor is not the method but rather the amount of effort you are willing to put into understanding and applying the principles, your own grasp of your chosen language and the size of your own vocabulary. I say this not to take away anything from atlas's work on this effect ( about which I know nothing more than has been posted here) but it does remind me of a certain Lee Earle word test.
