I'd recommend Fitzke's "Trick Brain" book. A few hours spent reading this with your big box of dice at hand, plus a source for the sleights (like a coin magic book), and you will be off in new directions.

Yours,

Paul

The most magical and entertaining dice work I ever witnessed was performed by Del Rey, but he didn't publish or market any of it and now he's gone.

Astinus, I, too, collect dice (dig my screen name). Get your hands on some loaded casino dice and use them along with a deck to force a certain card down in the deck. Also, if you can find some of those tiny, little mini dice, it's fun to vanish a full size die and then use the TT to "smash" it into tiny dice. Very cartoony!

I have some of those tiny dice and have had great effects with changing jumbo dice to mini dice via Spellbound type routines.

Hello there,

There is a trick involving an encased die available from Collector's workshop - Badlands Bob. I think it is superb, especially when combined with other 'bits'. Also, there are superb prediction effects possible with gimmicked/ switched die such as those available at 'Highland Games'.

I remember the late Bill Stickland used to have a 45 minute act of exclusively dice tricks. He used to bore everyone stiff with it.

I remember Ron Macmillan (who doesn't have the best attention span watching magic at the best of times) being trapped right in the front row of Bill's act. He couldn't escape without being conspicuously rude.

Afterwards he looked quite ill. He made me laugh by saying "If Stickland had gone on any longer I would have grabbed the dice and stuck them right up his
%@#$%!"

Since I am speaking ill of the dead I may as well continue. I well remember having dinner with Al Koran and listening to a diatribe all evening about Bill Stickland coming in to nightclubs, watching Al and exposing his tricks to the hostesses.Al thought he should be kicked out of the IBM.

Not that I am the gossiping type of course.

Senator Crandell said "If you can stack dice and tell two funny stories, you can call yourself a magician; then if you can learn another funny you can dump the magic crap and call your self an entertainer". By the way don't miss Four Dice Chink-A -Chink on Daryl"s FoolerDoolers Vol.3.

I wonder if it would be possible to do a multiplying billiard ball type effect with some of the rounder dice, like d20s or perhaps d12s for example? Not sure how you could get a gimmick for this, probably have to make one, but some of that work does not require it. Then with your RPG crowd, you could always do things like—"How much damage? Let's see, is it one? Oh wait, two...no, three...oh oh, looks like four..."

There's a good dice matrix with cards and dice in the Ecenntricks video.

"It's the rules" can be done with any dice. They aren't gimmicked in any way.
