I know we just had 420, but not that kind of joint blokes.
If ya need a place to chat with some fellow buskers whilst away from here, why not take a moment to head over to www.magicjoint.com It's a site both created and hosted by none other than our very own JoeJoe, so you know it's filled with real world discussion from one of the busiest street men in the biz! It's fairly new so please help to spread the word. See ya' there! ~Dev/ |

Thank you Mario, from you and your background ... that a very high value comment to me. I've got big plans for that site - going to be adding tutorial videos in the near future.

Thank you for your words of encouragement and inspiration Devious!! I have posted some more things on Magic Joint about the beginning of my IT experience. Getting feedback especially from great guys and gals who love magic is what it is all about. Magic Joint is yet another place to receive such feedback, give ideas and especially get “inspired.”

I just have to ask...why start another magic forum site?
This is in no way meant to put down the new site or Joe Joe. I've always found Joe Joe's postings on this site very valuable and insightful. But what value does a new site bring? I've gone over to it, and it's like a scaled down version of the Café. Organization is roughly the same, but lot less categories and content. So why should I go over there instead of continuing to browse and post here? Not too long ago, somebody started "The Magic Bistro" it also mirrored "The Magic Café" (a bit too much in my opinion) and is now closed. It didn't offer any additional value than the established Café here. I wish you success...just asking the question....

Fair question. It is not going to be just a forum - this is just the start. I've had some unexpected health problems so I'm about three weeks behind schedule on this.
The idea is to create a new site for "magicians", as opposed to my joejoeonline.com which is aimed at "laymen". Soon I'm going to start posting tutorial videos. I also plan to use it to release some of the magic I've created (ie: Web Spinner, Slider Gimmick). I'd like to put my entire lecture on this site in video format. In time, bring other magicians into the fold - possibly even a system where you could publish and sell your content (like Shopify). This site will definitely NOT be just another 'cafe', not by a long shot. It is going to be unlike anything else available online. Currently, the default module is "forums", but that will be changed in due time once I have the content organized and ready. It is actually one of about a dozen sites I'm going to launch using this software. As of right now, it is in a "beta test" mode. I call it "Perl Pages" and it will be released as Open Source through Quintrix and Crew Software (my old BBS handle and software company dating back to the VIC-20). It is module based, and I already have modules for shopping carts, picture galleries, game sites (ie: high scores), forums, and nearly anything else I need it to do. : ) -JoeJoe

of which the members were Saxe, Harry Murphy, Opie, JimShoe,Peter Marucci, Margarette, Michael Jay, Payne, Steve Christiansen, along with a few others....and then Steve Brooks started this site... |
