I think he is using halves, but I'm in the middle of building works, so the DVD is buried in a box, away from the dust!

I was experimenting with both halves and dollars, and running into different challenges in both cases, but am greatly enjoying being challenged in this way. He makes the moves look very beautiful, effortless. I think we may both be in for a long journey, compadre. Smile

Mutobe-san's coins are old, old half dollars. The halves minted before the Barber halves are slightly larger in diameter. Of course, the size of the coin, in and of itself, is not all that important. What is significant is the size of the coin relative to the length of your fingers, the musculature of your hand, your flexibility, and other things.

The trick to working this out is to do it as well as you can, until something goes wrong. Then, figure out what, precisely, went wrong. Then, figure out why that happened. Then, don't do that. Sounds simple, and it is, but people forget to apply it. They get caught up in either success or failure, and mever stop to wonder why they fail.

In this case, if you find you are dropping the hidden coin during the spin, try this: use putty to stick 3 or four coins together in a stack. EG that lump, and try the spin. If that works, remove a coin from the stack. That way, you can work yourself down to the point where you can do the spin with a single coin EG'd. (By the way, if you can do it with a solid stack, but not a single, it probably means you are raising or lowering your thumb and/or second finger relative to eachother. Don't do that.)
