I've read the threads on the bill switch, but I'm confused, so please bare with me
I'm looking for a switch that will permit me to change 2 borrowed $1 bills into 2 $2 bills and give them away. (Or maybe 2 1's into1 $2)
I do not want to use a gimmick, nor am I looking for a flash restoration.
Which do you think would be most practical for a walk around routine?

Although I can't point you to a specific source, I was taught one that used no TT or any other gimmick. I think the idea came from Tom Mullica. If you can check some of his videos, it may be there. Maybe someone here can narrow this down.

Look into Jarle Leirpoll's book or dvd "Pocket Power" he teaches a no gimick
bill switch as well as other great effects.

My favorite switch from two $1.00 dollar bills to one $2.00 bill is the "$2 Window" on the MONEY DVD by Jay Noblezada. However it is not designed to give the bill away at the end of the effect.

That is a very good bill switch.
And easy to learn and perform too.

David is right, Pocket Power is a great sleeper that I don't hear people talk about often. That bill switch is good too!

Just got this emailed to me the other day. He teaches his no TT bill switch with the effect (and it is inexpensive)
