Yves, you are correct, Ammar does use his second finger to 'pry' the stack apart, thereby allowing the coin to drop.
As with pretty much any worthy move in coin magic, the answer is practice, practice, then practice some more. I've been working on dropping one morgan at a time from a stack of three CP'd for only a couple of weeks, and already am seeing a glimmer of hope that it IS possible!
