Anyone familiar with this product by Steve Hurst? I've run across it a number of times over the last few years, but have always kind of been a bit wary, though extremely excited about the prospect of this instructional set. The only thing that has kept me hesitating so long is the fact that I've never seen a price on the site and I don't want to have to click the PayPal buy now option to find out.

If anyone else has purchased this product and can vouch for its quality and possibly disclose the price of the seeming treasure trove of dummy-building information, that would be fantastic!

I've looked into his books as well. I've recently been trying to weigh the value between the two, as Hurst was Ray Guyll's mentor.

Maher Ventriloquist Studios will be coming out with Mike Palma's Building A Ventriloquist Figure Course this summer. Shot in HD video, each step is shown and explained as Mike builds a figure from design to finished piece. Nothing will be left out. I'm not a builder, but based on everything we've finished so far, I have no doubt I could create my own. The best part - no need for expensive power tools like a bandsaw.

I understand you are looking now - but hope you will keep this in mind! You can see the teaser video here:

Tacrowl, thanks for this! It's something I'll certainly be checking out! I had bought a Fred head casting and eyes from Braylu a while back, but got intimidated by what resources I could find at the time for putting it all together, then ended up selling it to a local small-time builder.

Hopefully whatever I get next will be enough to inspire me to try again and actually complete something! Until then, I'm working on making a custom soft puppet Smile
