I've never heard of him, so I googled the name.
He is a magic salesman who owns/works Daytona Magic. He wrote a book of one liner jokes for magicians. He promotes himself on his own website as being the top magician in the USA, and as the best humorous magician in the USA. ihave you should have used your super psychic powers to answer this question. |

I also found info in a simple google search. It seems that the ad copy for his DVD set does in fact claim that he was "one of America's most popular magicians". I think most people here would probably dispute this claim, though. I have never heard of him in my life.

I've been in the shop in Daytona, maybe 16-20 years ago. He and his partner apparently have an RV and take a portable maqic shop to area conventions, etc.

He was just at Battle of the Magicians this weekend in Canton, Ohio. I've never seen him perform, but he demos very well for whatever that's worth. Seems like a nice guy.

He is a very good demonstrator.
I see him at conventions. Todd |

The original question is still unanswered (in my humble opinion), but I can say that I visit his shop in Daytona, FL once a year while in town and he's excellent with coin manipulations I've seen him do, again in my opinion. He's also always been upfront and nice to deal with. He's found me books through his connections that were hard to find, with my knowing of the used book dealers. I agree that he's a good demonstrator. I think his primary focus is running his magic shop and a yearly convention in Daytona. So, that's probably what he's known for most and enjoys. Plus, he gets to perform every day, if you think about it that way. Kenny

Hi Cardflipper!
Brother 'ihave' has been posing all sorts of questions all over the Café regarding everything from the IQ of magicians to how big a name was Harry Allen. I even posted a few "answers" for the fun of it! On this one, I wrote: WHO? just to see what someone might say. --and the comments were pretty much "exactly" what I espected. lol Thanks for posting!

Some of the best magic I've seen has been in magic shops, where people were trying to sell me something.

I have spoken to Harry several times over the phone. He is a great guy and as DomKabala says, he is a very good salesman. Whenever I talk to him on the phone, he is always pitching a product, not in a bad way. I always tell him "that sounds good, I'll think about it." He's a good salesperson, but I don't find him to be pushy. He has brought some good stuff to my attention and I've been happy with the things I have purchased from him.

If I could learn the coin moves Harry does, I'd be happy. His sleight of hand with that is awesome. He may not perform as a top name, but he is definitely a performer. Dai Vernon wasn't exactly "known" as a performer all of his life, yet his contributions to magic were pretty instrumental. I'd prefer to learn from someone than judge them and not learn anything. Maybe that's just me.
