Lennart Green LIVE: Sunday May 18th @7:00pm Eastern. (Penguin LIVE) One of the most innovative magicians to ever touch a deck of cards is coming to Penguin Live! SUPPORT LIVE MAGIC.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/4235 Who is he? Lennart Green is one of the most innovative magicians ever. His approach to magic with cards is so unique and surprising that when other magicians first witnessed his performances, they could not even begin to fathom what techniques were at play. In fact, many knowledgeable experts were so baffled, they couldn’t believe that Lennart was using a normal deck of cards! By now, you’ve probably heard the story of his erroneous disqualification from the 1988 FISM Card Magic competition, but it bears repetition. Some of the judges thought his effects were so impossible they could only have been accomplished with gimmicked cards or the use of stooges! So, the next time the competition was held, in 1991, Lennart allowed only the judges to handle and shuffle the cards, AND he gave them the deck at the end of the performance. Of course it was a normal deck of cards, so he won First Prize, and a living legend was born! He was catapulted into nearly instantaneous, and well-deserved, fame within the magic world. Soon, we all came to know and love his seemingly chaotic style and his unorthodox, yet powerful, techniques he had been quietly working on for years. His innovative sleight-of-hand skill, coupled with his love of mathematical principles, make his effects truly astonishing. Cards vanish into light, appear from nowhere, and somehow sort themselves into whatever order he desires. Lennart’s unquenchable thirst for knowledge leads him to study a broad spectrum of influences. He has studied art, chemistry, biology and has been employed as a violin-maker, a prison guard, and a doctor… but his true passion was always magic. Some of his first audiences in fact were his co-workers at the hospital. He would try out his various inventions on them to great success. You may be familiar with his Angle Separation which allows the performer to secretly sort and separate the deck while apparently just running the cards from one hand to the other. You may also have seen his Laser/Snap Deal where cards dealt onto the table with an audible snap instantly disappear without a trace! And of course there is his Top Shot which allows the top card of the deck to be propelled very quickly into the other hand and arrive face-up. It can be done so fast that the card seems to appear from nowhere. Whenever Lennart lectures you can expect incredibly strong card magic and fascinating methods that are well thought out and clearly explained. He will share hand-picked selections of his most famous creations as well as current items that are sure to delight. Prepare to learn perplexing professional magic from a living legend with a deck of cards. |

Can't wait to be sitting in the same room as Lennart and soaking up some of his thoughts...he makes card magic look real.

Anyone know if he makes public performances anymore?
I hope this will not ve a repeat of the Green DVD Material. |

Actually it wouldn't be bad if he did repeat his Green material as MOST magicians haven't seen his fantastic techniques and ideas.

Even if you own a band's greatest hits CD, I still enjoy seeing them live.

I found the time to watch the first twenty minutes. Will watch the rest tonight. He started the lecture showing some toys. Small inventions that confuses the mind. I would though not call it magic. Just presented very funny and interesting for the mathematical mind.
He jumped to the "real stuff" borrowing a shuffled deck from the audience and showing his excellent skills. These are not for beginners! I am having a difficult time with his steals. I have no idea how he makes it so smooth. Maybe I had wanted the host to stop him and go into depth with some of the moves. Like on some of the DVDs I feel he jumps too quickly from technique to technique. Not the less, this was the first twenty minutes or so, and I was already laughing a lot and learning. Everyone with just some interest for card magic and dry humor, go and get this lecture!!! |

Watching it again now, I see, I was talking about the first 50 min. You see, I was in a hurry and just wanted to see some first 20 minutes, but it is so entertaining and engaging, that I spend 50 minutes even though I did not have them

I love Lennart Green and seeing him really live which I have is always a treat. I only got to see a little of the lecture so I am sure people will feel free to correct me but I did not think he was out his best. Like me, he is not getting younger and I am not sure it was the best forum to learn his complex material that he has been published several times on DVD in the past.

He continued for 4 and a half hour! I am very impressed. I found it quite sad that you can tell from his performance, that he is getting old. He didn't want to work with the Hot Shot, as it was not possible for him anymore. He became tired from mid way ind the lecture and his voice was low and unsecure. That was a shame to see, but that is how it goes.
Am I the only one wanting him to have talked more? I would have been great with some interview stuff between them. Some more philosophical views on magic and his expectations for the future. Maybe that's just me. |

Lennart is in my opinion one of the smartest, Greates and Best Card Magicians of all Times. Every single Minute of Him is pure Gold. Less is more my Friend:))) Oh btw: would love to see you, when you have Lennarts age, if you could perform as perfect as if you were 20 years old.

Rasmus, no, I am actually a very quiet person. ( I guess you are the one who quickly judges people?) I just told a lot of my opinion as three people in here asked for reviews on it. As no one said anything, I just tried to help and do my best. So thanks for your support.
Anyway, you must have misread me or I did not made my self clear: I love Lennart and adore him, even today. He is the greatest living magician I know of. And I loved the lecture. I actually suggested people to purchase the lecture, if you read my words. So I don't get your accusations. |
