If anyone is interested, you may download this "copy" of an earlier letter from Dr. Edward M. Fromm (NIMH) to psychologist Harry Stack Sullivan. This letter may help fill in some back story and give you a clever document to use along with your ASH book. Those who have the book, or are familiar with Lillian's Diary will understand how this letter is used.

Al, there is a "14" between Bethesda and MD that doesn't belong there. The rest of the letter looks great.

The letterhead is an from an actual NIMH letter dated 1960. I'm not sure how you can say it shouldn't be there?

I typed the rest of the letter using "rough typewriter" font.

And for a clarification for those that don't know, the "14" in the NIMH address is a postal zone code, which was used in the United States before they create the 5 digit zip code system in 1963.

Quote:
The early history and context of postal codes began with postal district/zone numbers. The United States Post Office Department (USPOD) implemented postal zones for various large cities in 1943. For example:

Mr. John Smith
3256 Epiphenomenal Avenue
Minneapolis 16, Minnesota

The "16" was the number of the postal zone within the city.

The "14" in the address for 1960 is accurate and original.

Thanks for the compliment G, but it was just one idea, I think the door for creativity is still wide-open for this amazing prop.

Nope,....still waiting on the "sumptin" pdf, which I was told (since three weeks ago at least),..."working on it".
I know some have sought out their own 1960 photos,...but my attitude is that this was sold ad purchased as a limited edition collectible, which included the diary page (finally got it a couple weeks ago),..and the pdf photo and the provenance of the original items is important to me as a collectible prop set!!!

Al, thanks for the historical insight and the period stationary. Good work.

Does this mean it is not so limited edition?
For as long as space exists,
And living beings remain in cyclic existence,
For that long, may I too remain,
to dispel the sufferings of the world.

Been working with 2 guys to get the photo done and I expect it this weekend. You'd think it would be easy but apparently its not that simple. For a freebie I decided to throw in its causing me some stress! Smile

Yes, me too, but after all it is part of the collectible's "provenance", adding to its value!

In that case, I wish you hadn't ever offered it. Not worth it for the stress. Me, I've already found several authentic ' 60's photos that rock! Yeah, it'll be fun to see your photo. It'll probably be better than most of mine. And... I don't understand why folks are complaining about the timeliness in receiving a freebie. 'Specially when they can find/create their own! The effect isn't by any means dependant on a photo. It's a nice touch. My imagination has come up with several nice touches for this unique effect. Looking forward to playing this out! (I have one public performance in Oct. that will feature a seance presentation of Ash, possibly another in a different venue...)
