I just got volumes 2 and 3 of David Roth's "Expert Coin Magic." I've watched volume 2 a couple of times now and the play order of the DVD seems odd. It plays all the sleights first, then routines and effects. I strongly suspect, however, that my DVD plays in the wrong order, or at least a different order than Roth's original video tape. He refers to things out of order the way I've been watching it.

Is this correct? If not, can anyone post the best order to watch and study this DVD in?

I think they rearranged it for the DVDs.When I studied the material I studied it in the order on the DVDs.The DVDs more closely match the book.If it refers to something you want to know about you can always refer to it by the title menu.

I believe that my VHS version plays the demo, then teaches the trick(and associated sleights)

If your DVD is playing all sleights as one long presentation, you may be working with a copied/bootleg'd DVD. I would have thought it would provide a menu list each effect separately.

I'm reasonably sure my DVD set is not a bootleg. I ordered it from Amazon, which probably doesn't ensure it's not a bootleg, but if it is it looks pretty legit. Volume 1 plays in a logical order. The menus for Volumes 2 and 3 have separate sections for slights and routines. When I go to "play all" it will play all the sleights first, then go into the performance and explanation of the routines. What makes me suspect that this is out of the original order is that Roth will refer to routines in the sleights that haven't been covered in the DVD play order or otherwise make comments that seem out of context with the play order.

It doesn't make it impossible to learn from, but it required me to watch everything out of context first and then go back and forth between the sleights and routines menu.
