Since we all love those nice card routines, and we know A LOT of them too, (perhaps too many? I have forgotten too many of them), but there are many routines that work well together.....
So, what's your favourite Combo? Right now mine is Daryls' Ambitious card to Sankey's Paperclipped ending.. -e-
...As long as i`m not a world-champion at anything, the great reactions of doin` magic will do just fine.....

I like to do one routine like Rene Lavand´s "Kumanes´ History", but with both hands, of course. It is like first cutting the aces, and then placing sevens on the table to change them for kings.
All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

Vernon's Twisting the Aces followed by Daley's Last Trick. Possibly the best 1-2 punch in card magic.
Any standard Ace Assembly followed by Invisible Palm Aces. My presentation for the standard assembly is gambling themed. I demonstrate how a cheater can invisibly steal the aces from other people's hands by using the "invisible palm switch". I quickly go thru the motions of pretending to switch the aces invisibly. After the revelation I say that I will explain in more detail what an invisible palm is because I was very vague beforehand. I then go into my presentation of Jennings' Invisible Palm Aces, which is also gambling themed. I find these to work very well with each other. It gives me a reason to do Invisible Palm Aces, which puts the effect into more context because of the effect beforehand and the gambling themes.

Twisting the Aces (with the 4 aces turning face-up in the deck as a Finale) followed by Dr. Daley's...
... Maybe followed by (with a selection) Think, touch and turn (Marlo/Malone). Or "the bullet rick" followed by twisting the Aces (underlining the particularity of the AZce of spades). |

I do my ambitious card routine and follow it up with Carl Andrew's Hula Fusion (it's an anniversary waltz type routine where the signatures from two different cards melt onto one card). No setup deck and no cleanup. I do this all the time.
Check out my Main Event project (DVD or Download).

Currently I am doing Gaston Quieto's version of Paul Harris' "Reset." I follow up on that with another Paul Harris treat, "Invisible Palm Aces." They flow nicely together I think.

A Harry Lorayne trick from Decksterity, I think it is called "Foursome", followed by any Four Ace Assembly (I prefer Marlo's "Bluff Aces"), followed by Vernon's "Twisting the Aces", followed by the "Cards to Wallet" ala Francis Carlyle (See the Roger Pierre book "The Magic of Francis Ccarlyle" for the best available description of Carlyle's handling).
Thematically, I keep using less cards to make it easier for the spectator to follow. First a full deck, the just the aces and 12 cover cards, then just the aces, and finally we try to get rid of the pesky critters (the aces, or whatever four of a kind is dictated by the original selection, way back at the beginning of "Foursome"). Makes for a good 8-10 minute set... Best, PSC P.S. I know this surpasses the requested two card combo, but the idea of linking effects brought this to mind. There are other effects that I do in combination, I will post them in another message...

I love the following combo's
1. Ambitious Card and paperclipped (Sankey) 2. Twisting the Aces (Vernon) via Cross/Bizarre Twist (Harris) to Card Warp (Sometime Dr. Jacob Daley's last trick in Between). 3. Doc Jacob Daley's last trick to explain that cards can change places followed by Color Monte (Or Virginia City Shuffle). |
