Has anyone else had problems uploading photos to use as an avatar. I can't upload even though its the right size etc it always gives me the message that its to big, even if I make it half the size. I get error messages with line 188 and things, a friend says this is a problem with the site and not my photo, I don't know much about computers so thought I would ask here, it his also deleted the avatar I originally had so Ii now have no avatar, thanks.

When they say it's too big they might mean file size and not the dimensions of the picture.
Try saving it as a gif file or a lower resolution JPEG

A few years ago, someone gave me this tip. There's a free software called "PIXresizer". I downloaded and installed it onto my computer.
I simply run all sorts of photos through it, to make them more web friendly. It will help you change the size of the photo and also the file size. - Donald

Yes Bob, the pi resize thing did the trick. Many thanks to Son Murphy, I tried all sorts before it was driving me crazy. Café members to the rescue again.

Here's an image optimizer I just used. This has been one of the easiest avatars for me to make & I've had a few of them.

Sheesh, easy avatar change, but I just screwed up my password and almost couldn't get back in here. (Well, apparently it was me, but I don't recall tampering with it- any techies who can advise, please feel free. Some of those new profile changes might have got me.) Got it straightened out o.k., though, to state the obvious. Good to see that email addy is still accessible, I guess. Yikes.
