Hey guys,
I'm looking to learn one or two new coin routines with 3 or 4 ungimmicked coins that are not coins across related. What are some of your favorites that meet this criteria?

Coins through table? Its sort of a coins across, but its more of a penetration. Standard C/S coin routines are also nice... wild coins, CSB (kind of 'across') spellbound etc. Michael Rubinstein's Penguin Live lecture is a great source for ungimmicked coin magic, he has some nice productions, c/s routines and coins thru tables.

Gaddabout coins from Bobos. One coin routine with a final big change. There are copper silver transpos with just two coins, or others with an extra. Don't overlook Expansion of Texture from Bobo's. It uses a handkerchief, but is seriously powerful. Ammar's coin through silk or other variations.

I like David Stone's Never Two Without Four, it's a production, vanish and reproduction of four coins, you can learn it from his excellent DVD Basic Coin Magic vol.1
Jay Sankey has some really cool stuff in his Revolutionary Coin Magic DVD as well.

Try your favorite coin routine routine, but ring in a second coin briefly for something really bazaar for the spectator to see - like a brief continuos production (only about three times though), or a good penetration effect thru your hand or head. Then ditch the second coin and quickly wrap up the rest of the flurry. Then allow the spec handle the coin a bit.

Use a little patter to glue the routine together.

They'll love it.

To see a difficult thing lightly handled gives the impression of the impossible.

Check out David Williamson's take on the sympathetic Coins. Four coins penetrate up through a handkerchief. The last coin penetrates up through a spectator's fingers!

Here are three to consider:

Coins Through The Table (Several to choose from; select a fairly non-standard one that doesn’t resemble a Coins Across routine)

The Gadabout Coins (Try Ron Bauer's "Gadabout Coins Revisited", available here: http://www.thinklikeaconjurer.com/all24r......ndex.htm Excellent script and instructions.

Matrix (Al Schneider's Classic Matrix, that is. Forget about the variations, backfires, and all that. Learn the original, do it well and it's all you'll need!)

There has been some good mentions above.. Id like to add, that it wouldnt hurt for you to establish/put together a production sequence, AND maybe even a complete vanish sequence ( the handlings to your preference), if you wanna go nuts! But that way you have a nice way to start, and end any other routine. This also helps add run time, if you need to stretch a routine. And on top of that, it adds a light n loose pre-phase, which is a great place to add a little of your own character, though I am more of a quiet, let the magic run the moment kind of personality. I personally wish I would have started doing this kinda thing sooner than I did. That's my 50¢, anyhow..
Have fun.

Definitely agree with Richie Larson above.

One that is often overlooked is one-to-four in Bobo's.
If I'm doing an ungimmicked coins across, I always start with it. I just produce the first one from Down's or JW grip, then continue with the productions.

It's a great way to immediately get interaction with the audience and it's so much fun producing coins from spectator's ears, clothes etc.

Another easy one is Pocket Miser from Metal 2. Just need to know a vanish and a shuttle pass, and you're all set.

Bowers,

You mention often that you perform spellbound. I've played with it a bit and sometimes do a two phase spellbound when borrowing a coin, to then hand it back to them. But I've not been able to come up with a longer routine that satisfies me.

What sort of structure does yours have and is there an ending as such?

I'm pretty sure every routine on "Sick" (Ponta the Smith's dvd) is ungimmicked.

I like bodyloading coin routines like coin on shoulder and coind under watch.
There is a nice bodyloading routine on one of the metal dvds.
Spellbound and transpositions are great aswell.

You are right. There are no gimmicks unsed on pontas "Sick". Lots of brilliant stuff on there!

I took the basic learning routine from Brad Burt.
And then added my own little finess to it.

Brad end's his with a jumbo coin.I don't end

Same here Mb. There is something magical, and I say that with all seriousness, about the way Mr. Roth handles these two routines - I particularly love his winged-silver, but chink-a-chink is no slouch either !
