Stage Research, the company that makes the SFX show control software, sends out an occasional newsletter. This month they've got an example from Steffan Soule, a magician in Seattle, WA and how he uses their software to automate his show. They also list what equipment he uses in his show, for those of you are techies.

What's interesting is that he's also used it to do one-man shows with a remote.

Midi show control is a great way to go if you need to control lights, sound and special effects. Most of the major shows in Las Vegas and attractions at amusement parks are controlled by MSC systems. The price for these systems has now moved down into the range of the professional magician and can be run on laptops. Run a search on mide show control and you'll find a number of conpanies specilzing in this format. Go to http://www.zircondesigns.com for a large list of companies and advice on using software effects control systems
