Besides that, you have to master a MD thoroughly (I do !), what makes that 98% of the magicians already fall out. I have seen it done by a few colleagues-magicians (not bad ones) and the result was not breathtaking. I am very curious to see videoclips....of others. But I do agree that it is far out the best acaan there is. (no doubt about that) But it must be done as fluent as Asi Wind does it. I don't think I will see many video clips.... I don't do the trick. It would be a shame to do such a wonderful piece of magic in a mediocre way. I love that trick (and the Art of Magic) too much for that. |

We all have our own different learning curves when learning new things. |

I think Asi Wind's ACAAN is amazing ... very difficult ... but amazing.
I also think that in the minds of the spectator, this is not a "closer" effect ... I don't think any professional would close a show with this trick. Considering the amount of effort one has to invest in this effect, the return on your investment isn't that high. In contrast effects like OOTW have a far greater return on very little investment. In that performance, the nine of spades is the ninth card in the Tamariz stack.
Asi and David did a great job MILKING great reactions from that moment of luck. Epic, G Ro |

Asi is very clever and this is VERY good. It takes some elements of which I was familiar to new heights. All of his work that I have seen is lovely. Thanks Asi!

For anyone who struggles with quick math calculations under pressure, let me just say this: I have struggled with simple math my entire life but this was a reason to PRACTICE. I have performed this effect many times now and the math has become exponentially easier. Don't let that stop you because this effect absolutely stuns audiences. I love it! Thank you Asi Wind and the Great Juan Tamariz!

Hi Café members:
Like most of you, I simply loved Asi Wind's A.A.C.A.A.N. And like many of you (I suppose), I struggled with the math behind it. When I was developping my app "Turbo Cards", I wanted it to be a card magic trick you can do in your phone. Then I included inside the app a stack trainer, then I went the extra mile and included an ACAAN trainer. You get the choice to train at AACAAN mathematics, and the app will tell you if you're ready to perform in the real world. Or you can even use the app to do no mental calculations at all during your performance!! You can check the app out on my website: http://ho-creative.com/turbo-cards-magic-app-phone/ The app is available on iOS and Android. I would love to hear from you guys if the app was helpful to your training! BR |

Has anyone else encountered that when the 9D is selected the card ends up one position short? It seems I need to add one card to the stack to get it into the correct position... anyone else have this happen? Confused in Pasadena.

Um... never mind. I was one card short of a full stack. Cheers!

I think Asi's ACAAN is the best opener you can find to start a close up or, even better, a parlour session. I use it as an opener because it keeps the stack ready for a next MD effect.
Not easy to do but the good thing is that you don't really need to be perfect to fool the audience. you must be very quick but not really perfect. I use ASI's presentation of the guy who had a car crash. I'd like if someone can share his own presentation! Riccardo |

Can this be performed with ANY stack? I used to have Aronson down cold, and I'd love a good excuse to work it again.
It seems, from the posts above, that it would work with any stack, but people have only mentioned Mnemonica or not mentioned a specific stack. And, because "math" and "formulas" are mentioned (which could easily be stack-specific), I am keen to check to make absolutely sure. Also, what are angles for this? From the looks of it, angles are at the very least a factor, though I suspect, not a challenge. Love Asi's work! So excited to pick up Gypsy Queen when it comes out in a few days. Asi is one of the few magicians I have ever met that has completely fooled me every single time he's performed for me, no exceptions. |

I've seen both the video on D&D and read Chapter One. The video is worth getting if you do ACAAN with a mem deck. Angles are not really an issue in practice, and it is not stack specific. Fantastic version of ACAAN.

Hi everyone:
I've posted almost a year ago about my app “TURBO CARDS” that lets you train at the A.A.C.A.A.N calculations. I’m glad to announce that “TURBO CARDS” app has been updated on Android and iOS devices. I received so many suggestions through private messages; it was hard to include them all in one update! Yet I’m pretty satisfied with all the novelties I managed to include, check them out:: - You can now create and use (and train at) your own custom stack! - Stack training modules now have a "Pass" button to reveal the correct answer! - You have the choice now between 18 popular stacks! - Access to the secret is now password protected. - Some bugs in the ACAAN helper section are now fixed. - Some bugs in the training modules are now fixed. - The looping sound in the menu lasts now a few seconds only. If sales are encouraging, I’m thinking of great additions to include in the following updates, so keep an eye open! Don't forget to rate the app to show your support! Thank you again for the support and bright ideas. My webbie page: http://ho-creative.com/turbo-cards-magic-app-phone/ |
