I was very lucky. My Chevy Tracker had a problem which I was afraid was going to cost quite a bit of money. I then discovered I had "16 Days" of warranty left. Needless to say, finding a warranty service center in Germany was a small challenge but it was well worth it. The repairs were accomplished very quickly (overnight) and at no cost to me. They even gave me a tune-up and checked everything out very well. WHEW!!!

Congratulations, don't you wish every car trouble was fixed for free.
Lets just hope they did a good job and your car doesn't mess up in a week. |

Hi Rob,
You were lucky and whew only 16 days of warranty left? That was lucky for you!!! I just happened to check out Trackers today at a car dealership so I was curious to know what the problem was if you wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks in advance. Now for my own lucky story regarding cars. I've mentioned before on here I own an 86 Fiero sports car which I have grown to love especially since I joined a Fiero car club. Here's a bit of luck that I came across which is similar to your story in some ways. The Fiero mechanic whom I was going to get to replace the crack in the manifold said I noticed you don't have a sticker on it and they were recalled by GM in 88. Well as luck would have it GM was contacted and they honored the recall going back to 88, a new one was shipped from the US and installed free of charge!!! Keeping the Fiero but interested in perhaps a Tracker so I'll look forward to hearing about how you enjoy this vehicle. |

I just fixed "warranty" in your post, Chrystal.
Frankly, most of our members wouldn't have noticed, and the ones that would notice the error would probably recall that most of your posts are correct. I’m also embarrassed when I make a mistake, which means I am embarrassed a lot of the time! After years of being a perfectionist, and being frustrated all the time, I’ve developed a new attitude. I call it “constructive apathy”!
Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.

The problem was minor but had the potential to be major. It looked like a possible head gasket issue but turned out ot be a small crack in the water pump that was spraying coolant onto the manifold. The tracker has been a very good car and this is the first issue in nearly 3 years. I have no hesitation in recommending one.
I'm ordering my new car today (keeping the Tracker). I'm getting a Cooper Mini Clown colors of course.

Thanks Bill! I'm not that bad at spelling actually, but a lousy typist!! (I had to ask staff for help correcting my spelling mistake as I am experiencing computer problems of late and unable to edit my own post- ha ha)
Rob, thanks for the info. I always thought a Mini Cooper would make the perfect clown car!! Good luck on your new purchase! I'm hanging on to my Fiero as our club races their cars at the track in the summer and I want to say I've tried it at least once. (another hat to wear!!) |
