In my latest video blog I share three key ideas that can help you increase the effectiveness of your Call To Action (CTA). If you're not implementing these three ideas, you're probably leaving money on the table. If you're not sure what a CTA is, I also define it, as well as give you the tips for improving them.

I guess maybe you needed a little bit of a stronger call to action to get responses to this post. Lol, just kidding Lou. very good thoughts and information here.
As I have said repeatedly before, it seems like performers have trouble with the order of which things they should direct their attention to. As you can see from some recent posts here, guys try to do a web site before they probably should or before they are ready, they focus on the latest trendy things when in reality it is such basics as a call to action that should be known BEFORE ever thinking about creating or designing a web site, promotion piece, or even their elevator pitch. Everyone is in a hurry to get to the end results, yet once they get their they can't for the life of them understand why it isn't working as they had expected or why people aren't flocking to their site. The RIGHT CTA is probably one of the most important aspects to any entertainers business, marketing and promotional efforts. The more I check out your materials and a few others, the more it only conforms the huge divide among performers here. There are those that think, act and do this as part of their professional business on a daily basis, and those that do not, and are not at that level yet. There seems to be little room in between. The problem is as I see it is a real, true honesty issue. Everyone must be absolutely real and honest with themselves for doing a true introspective about themselves to realize where they truly are in regard to this issue. Then and only then, can they put a plan together to learn and move forward. |

I did a lot of thinking about this lately, and am glad I watched this because you mentioned things I hadn't thought of. The main one that stuck with me is that the call to action needs to be in more places than above the fold, which mine currently is not. Great video Lou!

Thanks Lou - this is very interesting. While I have utilized CTA buttons, I have not been consistent throughout my marketing materials, I have not prioritized my CTA and really do not have a CTA when it comes to booking shows. These conversations are why I love TMC business section. It makes me realize how much there is to know. I google searched CTA and found this article that reveals additional things that impact CTA results.

I've always tell those I work with "you don't know what you don't know". The extended version of this I guess should be "you don't know how much you don't know".
I constantly hear from those entertainers I work with that they never had any idea that so many elements and so many things were truly involved in their business, and the levels and actual attention they need and deserve. |
