I too purchased this... Why?? Because I also have Wayne Fox's "Secret Soldier" http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S11108
They are very similar and I have gotten SUPER reactions from "Secret Soldier". Dropsy Diddle (goofy name but fun)I know I will use. The information about the beer bottle cap with the card value already inside from the bottler was worth the price of admission to me. I'm not sorry at all that I spent a whopping $4.99 I work bar/restaurants weekly so this will add a nice spin.

Just use the very underrated Mastermind deck. No funny moves required. Monte Christo deck for the old and bold amongst us.

Well said Acar.
It's pretty obvious what is happening at a certain part of the trailer, but then...that's not the reason one is buying the routine. And you're second point is bang on. |

Didn't have a home for a mechanic involved here after discarding magical premises in favor of mental ones.
Now, thanks to this purchase I have a perfect way of following a mental feat of my own (with a borrowed, shuffled deck no less) by asking a spectator if they think they could do something similar using 'their' intuition. Love it! =) |

Thank you for your response Acar. I do respect that. I guess for $5.00 it may be ok for some. Though- I still think there is nothing new here even with the routine shown in the demo. If the download includes more then fine. For beginners this may be worth it.

Once the cap is on the last card, it's much stronger IMO to show the other two cards they could have chose right there cleanly. I just wouldn't want to lose that moment if I were performing it personally, but you are correct it can be done with those decks.

That to me would be over-proving perhaps. If they've just seen a fair spread of 52 possibilities then why the need to show two side cards at the finale?
I'm just saying with a Monte Cristo deck maybe you would just routine differently. Of course if you wanted to you could collect the rest of the deck, turn and re-spread to show all the possibilities again.

But with the Monte Cristo deck you can't fairly show the full face of the chosen card cleanly. And you're stuck with a gaffed deck which would need to be sw**ched out.

And thus leads us back to the top change. I am having a lot of fun with the cap idea. I use it for my grail deck. I have them hold the cap in their hands without looking at it. I ask them to think of the first number between 1 and 52 that comes to mind. Once they state the number I go into the routine. Once I come to the chosen card I ask them to open their hand and take a look at the bottle cap a little closer. They so far have been really great reactions.

As far as showing the face, it would be a clean as you need it to be as long as you are holding it
![]() True about the switch. Anyway, off topic back to the thread.

Selling an Eddie Fields trick for $10? Is the money going to his family? I sincerely hope so. Can anyone confirm this?

I purchased the effect, and I am quite happy with my purchase. For me, I pretty much figured out the move from the demo, but I bought it for details of the effect.
I think it is commercial, simple and killer. It GETS reactions! I am going to use it all the time right up next to Matt Johnson's "Melt".

I purchase the download and sadly, I was not pleased. I was kicking myself for not thinking it through, and thinking I might be in for a new clever method.
The biggest problem I have with this is the "move" at the end. This move limits how you must perform this. I agree with one of the earlier posts that a mastermind deck would be a much better method. It's nice that it can be done with a borrowed or shuffled deck. I think this would have been an ok routine for the price if it was part of a DVD with a dozen good routines. Also, I think Jason could have thought of a few other routines that use bottle caps, etc. KJ |

BTW, I meant to say that if this was part of a DVD with a dozen really good routines for around $30, that would have been a better value.
